Story: Inspired by J. Krishnamurti’s teaching of “ground” as the silent, ever-present awareness beneath experience, this mix sonically explores four evolving forms of ground. An sonic attempt to show this foundation beyond all phenomenon shifts beneath perception.

The closest synonym for “ground” in Western philosophy is the “thing in itself” (Ding an sich in German), Kant’s concept of reality beyond perception, the essence independent of appearances.

It begins with Rooted Ground, the tangible base felt in body and earth, a primal pulse grounding us in the now.

Then, ground flows into Fluid Ground, a shifting field of rhythms and energies, embodying impermanence and change.

Next comes Ethereal Ground, the invisible root beneath form, a silent space inviting deep listening beyond our conditioning and ego.

Finally, Emergent Ground reveals the interplay of being and becoming the creative tension where existence unfolds without separation.

This mix is a meditation on Tat Tvam Asi  (“That thou art”), inviting listeners to rest in the silent, shifting ground beneath all experience.

We were invited by the lovely people of Bubbles & Bass to play at their camp in the morning. Right after Madmotormiquel and before Unders, BeSvendsen and Britta Arnold had their infamous Ménage à trois. 

Thanks to all the dancers in front of the booth. It was fun.
