Germany’s Rolandson has, for Getting Deeper’s 62nd podcast, given us a set that truly resonates with the blog’s essence. There is something very transient, transparent and intense about it – a depth that Getting Deeper constantly strives to reach.

He has, with this set, not only given us a deep sound but has also woven words around it. It comes with a back story that lifts the set to a more intense level, giving it a wholesome shape and a more intelligent personality. It’s really impressive how Rolandson has given this entire thing – this movement so much heart. The set, as he tells us, is a part of a series of podcasts going under the name of ‘En Resa.’

His set for Getting Deeper is called ‘en resa till den djupaste punkt, Marianergraven.’ It’s the 6th part of a journey to the deepest point – The Marianergraven, which is a deep water channel in the Western Pacific Ocean, with a maximum depth of 11,034 meters and a length of 2400 kilometers. Rolandson tells us that he is fascinated by the underwater world and he yearns a piece of the quiet that reigns down there.

His set for Getting Deeper is that deep, underwater space turned into sound. The vision is of crushing waves and deep sea waters and the emotions associated with it. He tells us that with this set, he meant to make these feelings a more intense experience by making them deeper and warmer. And so, the end result is a journey with the artist to the deepest points of sound, life and his soul.

We love it. Not only is the set everything we hoped for, but it goes much beyond what it is made of. It’s a perfect tribute to what Getting Deeper stands for, and we are really happy to be a part of Rolandson’s own personal journey through sound. Thank you Rolandson for such a heartwarming effort!

"I made a fun mix for the Raga saga, a mix series I quite enjoy. When I was asked to make one, I’m not sure why, but I envisioned telling a story of an alien spaceship crash landing in a jungle, and as they explored the mysterious land they happen upon a jungle disco and never want to leave.

I wanted to make it tribal and slowly turn funky and disco like, so while listening, picture that hehe"

SAMAHA is a Seattle based house and techno DJ as well as musician.

His goal is to tell a story with his dj mixes, to paint a picture with sounds, and to guide you through a journey with lush melodies, cool breezy ambiances, and hard hitting earthy drums.

He draws inspiration from traveling the world, sampling sounds everywhere he goes, and turning them into songs that tell a story.

His start into the world of music and djing began in the trance scene, opening for major artists such as Bryan Kearney, John 00 Fleming, the cast of Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, as well as many more. Fast forward a few years and his sound has shifted to the more ethnic and worldly beats of house and techno. He climbed the social ladders in the club world of Seattle, becoming a resident Dj at notable clubs around the city. His goal is to travel the world and play music for all, sharing his vibe.

With a few EPs scheduled for release as well as many more tunes to come, Stay tuned for more SAMAHA sounds in the future.

A couple of years after his appearance, Wākhan already plays alongside great names such as Sahale, Ulises, Rebolledo and many others. A tour in Eastern Europe to his credit and co-founder of the Parisian collective O'Tawa, Wākhan made his weapons in the Techno environment where we can still hear some influences. Wākhan played From the downtempo to the Tribal issue of his urban jungle.

This week my friend and talented artist https://soundcloud.com/franssu from Montreal will take you into an amazing MultiCultural Journey.

Born God knows where (and even He wouldn’t tell you, as he’d rather forget the whole affair),  Franssu travelled quite a bit and decided to settle in Montreal, Canada around 15 years ago. Nobody knows exactly when his taste for moving images and amber spirits pushed him towards music. When he finally succeeded in being able to keep beats in sync, he started to collect sounds working towards the possibility of bewitching the crowd, with a variety of tempos that most consider skewed to the low end of what’s reasonable. Having rediscovered his calling as a serial traveler, the time spent all around the world also has an influence on the diversity of sounds in his collection. The selection of tracks for this mix was done during his latest trip in Mumbai, India, where he often travels for his day job.
