Episode #4 featured Brighton based Alex Banks.

Alex Banks wanted to clear the decks, to start afresh. His Monkeytown-released debut album ‘Illuminate’ caused a ruckus on its 2014 release, praised by the likes of MixMag and Uncut, and propelling the Brighton-based producer through a lengthy series of enormous international live shows. But that was one chapter – and he needed to start another.

3 QUESTIONS to ELFENBERG:

Q: Thanks for sharing your roots. How did you guys meet once and how did you get connected with music?

A: We met 7-8 years or so ago through mutual friends. Sharing the same passion for music, producing, and DJ'ing it came pretty natural to join forces. We started throwing parties and playing together in Stockholm, but it wasn't until 2017 we started the 'Elfenberg' project.

Q: During Corona all clubs were closed, no artists were allowed to play their music. How did you guys spend your time?

A: It's sad, and it's been quite boring, to be honest, but we're all in the same boat and everyone on earth has been affected one way or another so there's nothing to do but to hang in there. We're spending more time in the studio these days but it's at the same time hard to find inspiration when you're not traveling/playing gigs. Hopefully, everything will get back to normal shortly. 

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: We have upcoming EP's on Rotten City Records and Stil Vor Talent but we're also spending more time and will continue to do so on our own imprint 'Trampoliner'. You'll see a couple of remixes from us before the year is over as well. Stay tuned!
