3 QUESTIONS to FRANCESCA LOMBARDO:

Q: How did you first get in touch with electronic music?

A: I was introduced to electronic music by my uncle on our road trips to Germany from Italy. He used to collect tapes for the trip prior to departure and lecture me and my cousin about the music he would play us and it's origin. Those moments I will never forget and when I listen to those albums he played it still reminds of those car trips like I was there. 

Q: Let's talk about your mix. What do these tracks mean to you?

A: These tracks reminds me of my childhood and some of them are there because my mum or my family used to listen to them. They shaped my musical taste whether I wanted it or not. Some of them came in my life later when I had already left home. However they are all still in my heart and give me a little shiver of memory when I listen to them.

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: I have my album closure this year with a great remix package including legends 808 State and The Orb on my latest single “Call Me Wrong”. I also have a couple of collaborations with one of my favourite producer Hannes Bieger coming out in the next couple of months. More to be announced but taking a short break in between to focus on life and new music creations. I also am really excited about the upcoming releases on both my labels Echolette and Echoe this coming year.

To celebrate the spirit of 1st of May, we decided to release our latest Ich Hab Bock set on this day from our friend and artist duo Audio Units from India. 6 years ago, Audio Units gave great support to GD by releasing our fourth podcast with us. Today, we are crossing borders and crossing genres with a dark, trippy and hypnotic techno set. Alex Banks wanted to clear the decks, to start afresh. His Monkeytown-released debut album ‘Illuminate’ caused a ruckus on its 2014 release, praised by the likes of MixMag and Uncut, and propelling the Brighton-based producer through a lengthy series of enormous international live shows. But that was one chapter – and he needed to start another.

3 QUESTIONS to ELFENBERG:

Q: Thanks for sharing your roots. How did you guys meet once and how did you get connected with music?

A: We met 7-8 years or so ago through mutual friends. Sharing the same passion for music, producing, and DJ'ing it came pretty natural to join forces. We started throwing parties and playing together in Stockholm, but it wasn't until 2017 we started the 'Elfenberg' project.

Q: During Corona all clubs were closed, no artists were allowed to play their music. How did you guys spend your time?

A: It's sad, and it's been quite boring, to be honest, but we're all in the same boat and everyone on earth has been affected one way or another so there's nothing to do but to hang in there. We're spending more time in the studio these days but it's at the same time hard to find inspiration when you're not traveling/playing gigs. Hopefully, everything will get back to normal shortly. 

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: We have upcoming EP's on Rotten City Records and Stil Vor Talent but we're also spending more time and will continue to do so on our own imprint 'Trampoliner'. You'll see a couple of remixes from us before the year is over as well. Stay tuned!
