Behrouz's Do Not Sit On The Furniture label looks back on an exceptional 2019 with this compilation of all the key tracks form their last 12 months.

As well as their much talked about residency in Ibiza at Heart this summer, Do Not Sit continued to hold down the underground house sound they are so well known for back home in Miami, and made waves across the world with always deep, spiritual, journey sounds that make a true emotional impact. Here, the best tunes of 2019 are all served up to give a great overview of this most tasteful and considered label.

There are gems like Seth Schwarz's 'Animals At The Watering Hole,' Modd's spine tingling Vishaya, Ruede Hagelstein's enchanting 'Dort' and the majestic melodies and cosmic vibes of 'Ventura' from Dee Montero. Elsewhere, Re.You takes you on a hypnotic house trip, desert house champs Death on the Balcony layer up superbly tender vocals and chords on two different contributions, and Miyagi, Wild Dark and El Mundo & Zazou all add to the deeply immersive feelings and heady grooves.

This is a fine overview of one of house music's most vital labels.

First released on their No Stoppin EP in 2003, M.A.N.D.Y.'s 'Tonite' now gets a fresh remaster for 2020 with huge new remixes from Rebolledo, Pete Tong, Maga, President Bongo, m.O.N.R.O.E. and dubspeeka.

Opening up the package in fantastic fashion is Rebolledo, the long time Kompakt artist and original Pachanga Boy. His Collector's Edition mix is a smooth and seductive one with lush synths and nimble grooves all working you into a trance. Radio 1's vital veteran and enduring global tastemaker Pete Tong then steps up with a rare remix that shows why he is such a widely respected icon. He goes for a more prickly version which is lit up with big chords and has plenty of kinetic drum energy and epic breakdowns. Next up, French producer Maga's musical project has turned into a real journey through melodic, organic and minimalistic patterns that cast a fine spell. His version is built on a bass guitar riff that loops beneath cleverly treated vocals and becomes magically psychedelic.

Iceland's President Bongo was a founder of the cult GusGus band who now works solo on the Radio Bongo label and has his own distinctive sound. Evidence of that comes here with a superbly spooky version that has vocal chants shimmering about the mix and races late into the night on an indie licked rhythm. Then it is to Miami's m.O.N.R.O.E., who has been a regular guest on this label over the years and mixed America Gets Physical back in 2018. His version is the deepest of the lot, with subtle claps, atmospheric samples, bird calls and humid grooves that lock you in. Bristol techno producer dubspeeka always brings the UK sound and sense of grimy soul to his music, and he does so again here with a hard hitting, dubbed out yet dreamy rework full of class. Last of all is a fresh remaster of the original version which sounds as crisp and brain soothingly clean as it did when first released.

This top tune is set to be a smash for a second time round thanks to these vital remixes.

HYPEROBJECT is a new release by ADAMAN that explores non-traditional melodic structures, polyrhythmic grooves, and timbral resonance. With experimental compositions that utilize a mixture of indigenous instruments juxtaposed with electronic elements the soundscapes on this record are broad yet cohesive, ancient and modern, traditional yet experimental, old and new. 

As conceptualized by object-oriented philosopher Timothy Morton, 'Hyperobjects' are objects that are so large they defy human comprehension and may not even be perceived as objects at all, as they cannot be grasped in a physical sense. 'Hyperobjects' do not exist in a specific time and place, but are stretched out in a way that challenges their definition as something that is physical or material in nature.
