Fresh after the burn and after an enormous summer with continuous showcases in Scorpios (Mykonos), Woomoon (Ibiza)for our next premiere we have LUM aka Sebastian Gandine delivering us a soulful and meditative EP on Kindisch. 

LUM emerged from the jungles of Tulum to bring an EP for the purest of music lovers. Having already released on labels like Kompakt and MULTI CULTI, LUM now brings his medicine to Kindisch. Selva is a piece of art that might go unnoticed to the untrained ear – it’s the nuances, the twists and turns that bring the EP to life in a beautiful way. From the low organic tones of ‘Toé’, to the undeniable groove of ‘Respira’, LUM demonstrates his ability to create directly from the heart. Alongside the two originals is Nu’s extended mix of ‘Toé’, where he takes the torch and carries it further, deeper into the jungle night, helping us escape even further into ourselves. The boys of Dance Spirit also deliver a remix, giving ‘Respira’ a touch of tech house and underlining the mood in all the right ways. A track for the floor, early, late or after-hour – it’s always the right time.

Vor einigen Monaten brachte das Duo @amelipaulmusic mit „Delinana“ einen neuen Track raus. Für die beiden Musiker ist der Track eine kleine Prinzessin, die eine kleine Kiste besitzt, in der sich das Licht der Sonne versteckt und mit der sie selbst die dunkelsten und traurigsten Seelen zum Strahlen bringen kann. (...) Der Spanier @mommusic fand das Original so wunderschön, dass er einen Remix kreierte. „Ich war schon ein großer Fan von Paul Valentin und jetzt noch viel mehr von Ameli Paul“, sagt MoM. Aus diesem Grund fertigte er eine instrumentellere Version des Stücks an, das er nun über uns verschenkt. (...)

Istanbul’a is a song written for the ancient city Istanbul that evokes timeless questions: Can one ever leave behind one’s home? Can one ever truly arrive at a home that was once abandoned yet never quite forgotten? The original version of this haunting track is a dreamy meander through a labyrinth of marimbas and harps, orchestrated delicately by Santi and brought to life by Tuğçe’s ethereal voice. Santi & Tuğçe first released an extended version of this track in 2017 in the aftermath of political events that filled the city with grave uncertainty, much like the current moment in which we find ourselves. Even more so than at the time of its original release, today Istanbul’a captures a widespread sentiment of liminality and uprootedness that echoes all around and gains new meaning in our world as we ask: Can we go back to a past that is long gone? Will things ever be the same again? 

Along with Santi & Tuğçe’s revision of their original Istanbul’a, this EP features three brand new renditions. KMLN blends elements of deep tribal house and minimal techno into the original track that is bound to bring the heat to the dancefloor, while Herrhausen & Treindl’s approach yields an equally danceable, yet more laid-back euphoria. The EP ends on a climactic note with Dunkelbunt’s version featuring his signature transglobal electronic-instrumental sound that is full of energy, swing and a sense of eclecticism that is as layered as the ancient city Istanbul itself.

With LIGHTZ I'm very happy to be part of the 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch compilation with various talented BOOM artists via Kiosk I.D..

For the past ten years now Mira celebrated her birthday by inviting all of her favorite Kleintiere. For the first time since it started, and for obvious reasons, 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch won’t be happening this year, on what would have been the 10th anniversary of the series.

Please take this compilation as a perfect souvenir of all the nights we’ve had so far and an idea of what to look forward to in all the nights to come at Kater Blau somewhere in the future. There will be LIGHTZ in the end of the tunnel ;)
