The latest release on Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint finds the label presenting the fourth installment of it's ‘Correlation' series. Released in August of 2017, the inaugural edition featured a unique blend of untapped talent along with industry veterans, resulting in a cohesive fusion of artists from across the world. The label's borderless music policy was also well represented, showcasing a wide spectrum of electronica, from organic house to melodic house and deeper progressive grooves. Released in 2020, the label's third edition proved to be it's most impactful to date, with the lead selection ‘Kafka' by Ercos Blanka racking up over two million (and counting) Spotify plays over the last calendar year. Ready Mix Records Info: The second single taken from riccicomoto's new album 'Huge Distances', 'I Think Of U' features vocals by Silvia Bollnow and is presented alongside fresh remixes by Ready Mix Records founder BiG AL and Jelly For The Babies.

'I Think Of U' is one of the undisputed highlights of 'Huge Distances', a languid, dubbed-out and atmospheric cut with heart-stopping vocals by Silvia Bollnow.

Ready Mix's own BiG AL (aka BiGz) takes 'I Think Of U' into characteristically deep and hypnotic house territory, with subtle piano chords and swirling arpeggios to drift away on.

Respected Serbian producer and label owner Jelly For The Babies turns more toward the dancefloor for his typically melodic, sympathetic and progressive reworking of 'I Think Of U', complete with a spine-tingling breakdown and cinematic strings.

As sister label to the Meanwhile behemoth, the Horizons offshoot continues to expose listeners to a dynamic and varied sonic portfolio. Heralding a new release that captures the essence of the Meanwhile Horizons sound, Weird Sounding Dude now delivers “Passing Thoughts”, a sparkling musical narrative that navigates a clear path through the serene blue waters of glistening melody and rolling rhythmic waves.

A best-selling artist who regularly finds himself in the upper echelons of the Organic and Progressive House charts, Weird Sounding Dude is a favourite on esteemed imprints including Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Armen Miran’s Hoomidaas.

Making his Meanwhile Horizons debut, “Passing Thoughts” encapsulates the Bangalore based artist’s penchant for chunky grooves and rich melodic layers. Evolving over a smooth 8-minutes, a syncopated melody sits snugly against the percussive top-line and 8th note bassline. Elegant chord progressions drift enticingly across proceedings, exposed fully at the beatless breakdown before the title track hits its stride once more in the latter stages.

“Doorway to Amatsu” continues the melodic and rhythmic foundation as an arpeggiated sequence sits perfectly atop ticking hit-hat percussion and powerful metronomic beat. Breaking up the mesmerising repeated motif, white-noise swells and beautifully constructed pads pulsate gently in sonic waves, particularly at the stripped back mid-point before the tracks picks up the pace once more in the second half.

The final track sees “Explorer To Mars” entice listeners with a smorgasbord of elegantly sculpted counterpoint melodies that captivate with a stunning and effortless vibrancy. A clicking percussive groove provides dynamism as it sits in exquisite harmony with shaker urgency and swung groove. White-noise risers add layers of atmosphere as another sonic marvel becomes a timeless classic.

This is my entry, "Massive 200" for the 200th edition of the KVR One Synth Challenge. All sounds were generated using the Massive X Plugin. As always, I appreciate all feedback on how I could improve this track and others in the future.

Massive 200

For over five years, All Day I Dream has been where deep and emotive meet House music. Propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, Lee Burridge.

They now welcome Lost Desert to the label with the release of Lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with Burridge himself, that also features Junior on vocals. Lost Desert was picked out of obscurity after Burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. A fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and Lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. 

Lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. Our Debut Transmission is Gorje Hewek & Izhevski’s interpretation of Lingala is a markedly different affair. Focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s  signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

The new EP on Saturn Return is produced by Rowee and Nuiton and is a quality piece of music. ‘Lost Forest’ is a surreal march through a range of metaphorical textures. Endless permutations of rhythm, beat, percussion and a caustic voice are the main elements for more than 10 minutes. An additional acid synth finally emerges, breaking the rules of the beat. It’s romantic, hypnotic and strikes the perfect balance between angular rhythms and dreamy melodies. ‘Description of a Dream’ exudes ethereal patterns and nature like sounds. The prominent bassline includes plenty of water drops and build ups... this track seems to stretch out endlessly into the distance.
