Continuing on his solo streak of delivering electrifying bass-heavy anthems, Fred V is back with a brand new two-track single, ‘Trust Me’ (feat. SAYAH) / ‘Prosopagnosia’, a final offering before all roads lead to his debut solo album which is on the horizon for the summer of 2021. Following on from the successes of his recent ‘Apeldoorn Jamming’ and ‘Icarus’ releases, the dance music giant is back on Hospital Records with his latest drum & bass double-up.

No stranger to making a vocal drum & bass banger, Fred V has sought the talents of Sydney, Australia based SAYAH, a trained jazz vocalist and pianist whose previous works have been picked up by the likes of NME and Triple J. Soulful and emotive hooks, melancholic guitar licks and a healthy dose of drums & bass crafted to perfection offer clear insight into Fred V’s fresh musical direction.

Sombre strings contrast with uplifting arpeggios and mangled vocal samples on ‘Prosopagnosia’ before a rippling bassline tears its way through the mix, In classic Fred V fashion, expect a multitude of influences ranging from classical instrumentation to jungle breakbeats. 

Delving deep into the development of his signature sound, 2021 is shaping up to be a special year for Fred V. With frequent support from airwave tastemakers including BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Rene LaVice, playlisting at Kiss Dance and garnering the seal of approval from drum & bass legends including DJ Marky, A.M.C, and Koven to name a few, the future is looking strong for Fred V as his next move points to unveiling his highly-anticipated debut solo album later this year. Some places you’ll be able to find Fred V in the coming months include his tour New Zealand in from 27th May-6th June, Hospitality On The Beach in Croatia in mid-July, Liquicity Festival in the Netherlands and Hospitality Weekend In The Woods this September.

Kicking off with Brian Brainstorms take on THIS WAY, one of the most reloaded tunes from the Ghetto Dubz Volume 1 album by the almighty Aries & Nicky Blackmarket. Brian has taken what was already a great track and sprinkled it with his own special blend of herbs and spices, making it even more of a dance floor hit. The old skool vibes of the original, combined with his own unique jungle sound really works a treat. Ikon B & Crisis are next up and what they have done with Sanxion’s DOPE STORIES tune is nothing short of epic. Keeping the feel of the original but taking it up a level. The drums are punchy and the bassline is a real groover, guaranteed to keep em glued to the dance floor . Deep and dark vibes next from Ghetto Dub’s very own Secure Unit who has tackled MUSICAL RUSH and made it a real heads-down bass bin shaking monster of a track, not for the faint hearted. Finally, a rising star from Bristols ever pulsating Jungle/D&B scene making his first appearance on Ghetto Dub, the man like AUDIOMISSION. Taking on CUT IT LOOSE, an early track from the catalogue by label bosses Vinyl Junkie & Rachael EC themselves. Whilst maintaining the vibes of the original, he has added more layers of colour and transformed the track into a cool jungle workout with a funked up bassline and killer beats to boot. GHETT21 : Aries & Nicky Blackmarket - This Way (Brian Brainstorm Remix)

New EP series from Ghetto Dub HQ. Rugged Riddimz Vol 1 kicks off with SOUND SHIFTER’s erie darkside roller “Project Q” which echos the sound of jungles history with its heavily chopped up amen breaks and samples from the past. RASSTERLIN, head honcho behind the mighty Asbo imprint comes in hard and takes you on a journey that swings and sways through dark atmospherics, reggae skanks and a vocal that oozes dancehall lava. Definitely one for the “heads”. Next comes the unmistakable sounds of SUBCRIMINAL, fresh from his recent “Raised In The Hood” EP delivering a real bouncing dancefloor smasher with a cheeky steppa style beat and some cool reggae vocals reminiscent of the Clashes “Armageddon Time”. It's simply impossible not to jump around when the bassline drops. GALVATRON’s “Bam Bada” finally sees the light of day after a year of slaying down the dance on dub. Utilising his trademark heavily chopped up amen breaks and a dark rumbling reese bass, combined with that mesmerising female vocal, this tune goes off and is immense fun to mix with! A classic (and slightly cheeky) jungle sample ignites the proceeding on this final track by the man they call DUBTIME. We all know that intro, but when the drop comes it is not quite what you were expecting but you love it anyway. Deep rushy vibes with all the right ingredients to make this a real “Heads down” roller of a tune.
