So here it is, our upcoming single ‘For Your Love 2011′.
‘For Your Love’ was originallya song by 60’s outfit The Yardbirds, which was then covered by a German disco band.
We took this German cover as a starting point, recreated the whole thing while trying to keep the 70’s disco vibe. We played the guitar and conga’s, added epic bits and bobs, twisted it, and askedColonel Red to do the vocal parts.
The guys at Defected told us it will be out somewhere mid June.
It will also be featured on our upcoming House Masters compilation, but more on that later.

A creative collaboration between Richard Earnshaw, Simon Green and Matt Gray, Little Big Band released it’s debut single “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” in 2005 followed by “Pressure” in 2006, both on One51 Recordings. With work on their debut album “Sanctuary” in full swing ready for a 2015 release, Lewis Ferrier (Stimulated Soul) adds his trademark touches to “Pressure”, already gaining support and featuring on the latest Hed Kandi Beach House compilation.

Little Big Band - Pressure - Lewis Ferrier Remix

Two very solid cuts here from St Petersburg, a producer you suspect gets up in the morning and knocks out three decent disco jams before most of us have finished our coffee. In the red corner we have 'Cherry Funk' itself, a midtempo nu-disco/boogie/funk gem with wistful male vocal snips, Rhodes squiggles and lush chords. In the blue corner, meanwhile, 'Let It Go' is a warm-up friendly affair in which barely-there snippets of crowd chatter eventually cede space to an R&B-ish female vocal, with both sitting atop an unhurried, luxurious, lounge-y backdrop. Now you just need a poolside and some sunshine!

If you're a fan of DJ Supermarkt's 'Too Slow To Disco' series you'll want to to check for this new three-tracker from Ben Jamin immediately, because the Liverpool-based producer - who's racked up releases on the likes of Hot Gorilla, Discoholics Anonymous, Hot Digits and, yes, Too Slow To Disco - captures that mid-70s yacht rock and Quiet Storm soul vibe perfectly. The title track is a sleek, sophisticated slow jam with jazzy overtones - if you'd told this writer it was a long-lost Captain & Tenille cut, I'd have believed you! - while 'Destiny' treads a more straight-up disco path and 'I'm Dancing' drops down into a low-slung funk groove, but you'll have to pick your own standout here... all three are so good that picking a favourite seems a tad redundant!
