Burn Marks is meant to be a nostalgic post-summer song.
As summer comes to an end you have nothing left but memories and few sun-burn marks on your skin like pale tattoos that are tracing the course of your summer on your body.
Eventually memories fade and so are those signs on your skin, like echoes from the past.
Marking the change of season and the end of an era.
A reminder that it's the epilogue of a journey and the beginning of a new one.
A cocktail of nostalgic feelings and vivid dreams.
A rite of passage.

This album goes a bit deeper, and sometimes a bit darker. Each song is inspired by a particular memorable moment or era in my life.

Some are small, like one cool summer night riding bikes home with my best friend and fireworks going off in the distance. Some are big, like the birth of my children. I really believe memorable moments that we relive over and again are so incredibly valuable, and important reminders to not miss the potential memories in the making now - these are gifts we can never fully get back, so LIVING these moments is key.

Mother Water, heal us all. A song of praise and prayer to the Waters, which bring us purification and renewal. We shed our tears in order to see the world afresh, in joy and celebration. Based on a traditional Peruvian water song.
