With a focus on music that melds organic sound design with psychedelic atmospheres and a warm emotional touch, Immaterial Earth Records is inspired by a fascination of the untouched wilderness, geological exploration, and the delicate interaction of ecology and organism. Decidedly non-club in its sound, it is music aimed at soundtracking the perfect excursion into nature - for pensive listening on the open field, and solo dancing through the woods.

The purpose of the project is very much just to share a bit of one’s private music taste, particularly in the case of DJs who dedicate their lives to music but are only recognized for their “club music”. This will allow listeners to expand their music taste and get to know a different side to the DJs they follow, while giving DJs the chance to take a break from the music they rely on professionally in order to share a bit more of what makes up their personal musical taste/background.

I personally find that there’s more to DJs than what they are paid to play, or what they show on their social media accounts. I am curious about what they listen to when they are sad, what genres flooded their environments as they grew up, what influences helped shape their current musical knowledge and taste. Also, in times when AI is basically deciding people’s daily listening habits, I believe it wouldn’t hurt to offer some human curation.
