The mix was recorded at the last Planeta Pravda at Planeta Za / Ankali, a night Marie will remember as one of magic - surrounded by close friends and kindred spirits, each of them receiving exactly what they needed. The space was shaped by patience, understanding, and a willingness to truly listen. What ended that night will echo into every tomorrow.

When Marie Pravda settles into a DJ booth, she’s there to spark some chemistry with those willing to embrace it. While she is perfectly capable of generating similar energy in her recordings for the online world, it’s the endless push and pull with the physical crowd that charges her selection and mixing.

Developing into an avid digger during long shifts in gloomy basements and online, the Prague-based DJ and DIY promoter took the Czech scene by storm with her savage take on a growing range of club music – whether from her trippy or dance folders. In 2020 she joined the resident collective of Ankali & Planeta Za, where she runs her regular Planeta Pravda club series.

Marie has contributed episodes to numerous online radios and mix series for both club and non-club outlets. She recorded mixes for Knekelhuis, hereandthere, Galactic Funk, and appeared on online broadcasts of NTS, Hör, Mutant, Kiosk, Operator, and many more.

From 2021 to 2023, she was a member of the artist roster of Gravity Network, an international initiative for club culture exchange in Europe and beyond.

Monochrome presents, 𝖊́𝖙𝖊́ 𝓥 : basic chanel, Untitled 909.

This summer, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
In the twilight hours where basslines bloom like roots beneath the soil, basic chanel weaves her worlds. Guided by low-end frequencies that shimmer like constellations underwater, she builds sets that feel less like parties and more like spells - otherworldly journeys through mist, shadow, and sudden bursts of colour. Her sound drifts between hypnotic techno, psychedelic dub, and dream-heavy bass, stitched together with the care of a storyteller threading myth and memory. 

A London-based DJ, writer, and founder of the acclaimed platform Untitled 909, Chanel’s curatorial voice is as distinctive as her mixes: textured, emotional, and gently radical. Whether on the radio or playing at international clubs and festivals, she conjures spaces where the overlooked and the infinite collide - where the floor itself hums like an ancient drum and every note flickers like candlelight against stone. Some of her key gigs so far include Open Ground, Corsica Studios, Sublimation Festival in Uzbekistan, Bait takeover at Le Sample Paris, The Pickle Factory, and Floorless Festival to name a few. She’s contributed mixes to renowned series’ such as Sure Thing, Pure Space, Origins Tapes, Theory Therapy alongside radio shows across Rinse FM, LYL Radio, Refuge World and Netil Radio - the latter two are the home of her radio residencies, Untitled 909 and spirialling, naturally. 

With roots in music journalism and PR, Chanel has long worked as a bridge between artists and audiences. As basic chanel, she carries this ethos into her sound - championing the subterranean, the psychedelic, and the subtle.

Reaching our 100th edition feels special, and we couldn’t be more honored to celebrate it with Anthony Child. Many know him as Surgeon or as part of the British Murder Boys alongside Regis whose work has left a lasting mark on techno. Yet there’s another side to his work - one that steps away from the club and into more spacious terrain. You can hear it in his electronic recordings from the Maui project in 2015, in his collaborations with Daniel Bean as The Transcendence Orchestra, or through OLD Technology, the label they run together as a playground for questioning reality.

For Unrush, Anthony offers a mix that only he could create. A journey that wanders through krautrock, psychedelic twists, ambient spaces and moments of lighthearted play. It has the same curious energy that makes his monthly Noods mixes so inspiring, and yet it feels made to be taken in slowly, with time and openness.

We’re grateful to share this milestone with someone who has shaped so much of the music we love, and who reminds us that listening can be both grounding and transporting. Press play and enjoy it - on a walk, with friends, or in your own quiet time...

With the summer festival season drifting into memory, it feels like the right moment to linger on one of the most thoughtfully shaped events in recent years. The Mostra Festival unfolded over the Easter weekend across two Barcelona locations, and what set it apart wasn’t just the programming, but the curation - a balance of trust, patience, and precision. The first two days leaned toward the ambient and the experimental, tipping into rhythm as the nights wore on. Yet the real magic of that opening stretch lay in the beatless hours. Friday in particular offered a moment that still reverberates among Mostra regulars and beyond: Robert Henke’s performance of Dust. If there is any place in the world designed for such a work, Mostra provided the perfect frame. For one afternoon, Henke held the crowd in complete attention and reverence, something essential for any artist, but especially for one whose work is as delicate, shifting, and expansive as Dust.

For many of us, Robert Henke, Monolake to longtime listeners, has been a constant presence in the background of our musical lives. His records shaped taste, his performances redefined how electronic music could be experienced live, and his role as co-creator of Ableton changed the very tools we use to make and share sound. Few artists can claim such a dual legacy: architect of both the music and the machinery. Whether in moments of joy or frustration, whether in the studio or on the dancefloor, it’s impossible to imagine modern electronic music without his fingerprints on it. Henke embodies the link between technological innovation and artistic expression, and his influence runs deeper than most of us can trace.

Dust is perhaps the clearest expression of that link. Powered by a custom granular synthesis engine, it reduces sound to particles, field recordings, analog tones, machine hiss, bells, and waves, then disperses them into clouds that evolve in real time. The result is less like a composition and more like a living organism: fragile, unpredictable, always becoming something new. At Mostra, this unfolding took shape in late afternoon, after Patrick Russell’s set had sharpened the air with its own restraint. Henke stepped in with a 360-degree surround system that transformed the floor of Fabra i Coats into a resonant body. The sound was cosmic and liquid, grainy and immense, stretching outward until it seemed to erase the horizon. Every surface in the space shimmered with detail, as if the air itself had been tuned. What made it remarkable was how fragile it all felt. Nothing was forced; every movement seemed to arise on its own, like dust caught in late-afternoon sunlight. Yet the immersion was total. People surrendered, leaning into the space as if trying to hold onto something that could never be held. For that hour, Mostra wasn’t a festival anymore. It was a room of people floating together in a world made entirely of sound, knowing it would never happen in quite the same way again.

Delayed x Mostra: Robert Henke presents Dust

Next up in our mix series is Atsushi Maeda - a cornerstone of Japan’s underground scene and one of the minds behind ‘rural festival’ and ‘428.soundwave’ in Thailand. With over a decade of dedication to deep, immersive techno, Atsushi has shaped not only dancefloors but the cultural landscape surrounding them, both in Tokyo and across the globe. Whether in Tokyo’s intimate clubs or on international stages, his sets are marked by precision, patience, and a mind-expanding musical narrative.

This mix is a live recording from rural 2025, capturing Atsushi in his right element: outdoors, surrounded by nature, guiding a devoted crowd into uncharted sonic terrain. Nestled between Erika and Oscar Mulero, starting at midnight, Atsushi weaved a dense and precise tapestry of hypnotic peak time techno. Focused yet expansive, it’s a set that embodies the Rural spirit.
