I'm hugely in love with the sound of this bass and pedal as a combination - so much clarity, aggression and power. I recorded the main riff from "Icarus Lives!" and overlaid it over the album track to demonstrate.

He-II (Helium II)

About: Livecoded at the VondelCS venue in Amsterdam during Museumnacht in November 2019.

Title: He-II, Superfluid Helium-2. Liquid Helium turns into a superfluid when it is cooled below -271 ºC. A superfluid is a state of matter in which matter behaves like a fluid with zero viscosity. The substance looks like a normal liquid but flows without friction past any surface. Superfluid Helium appears to defy gravity. Helium II will "creep" along surfaces in order to find its own level.

This track was composed for the "Curtis" (iphone/ipod/ipad) app by The Strange Agency. This piece is a Acousmatic composition based on everyday found objects. I recorded various wine glasses, gears, metal, motors, Ratchets, chimes, croaking frog scraper, Indian bells, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Santoor, waterphone, piano, hematite magnets, processed voice, underwater ambiances, computer, and sprinkled bits of Buchla 200e/Doepfer Euro rack Modular. 
All of the sounds originally captured at 24-bit 96khz with a Neumann RSM 191 A/S stereo shotgun mic, SMK4060 Stereo Matched 4060-BM Miniature Omnidirectional Microphones and Sound Devices 702 recorder. Download the wave in 16-bit 44.1khz wave:)

Soundscape study in Supercollider (2021)

Giorgio Zucco è un chitarrista elettrico, compositore e sound designer, nato a Torino nel 1977, si è diplomato in composizione, strumentazione per banda, musica elettronica presso il Conservatorio G.Verdi di Torino.
Si è inoltre diplomato in chitarra moderna presso il C.P.M di Milano (1999) , studiando con Tomaso Lama, Bebo Ferra, Danilo Minotti e ha frequentato gli stage estivi del Berklee College presso Umbria Jazz.
Come ricercatore nell’informatica musicale ha pubblicato il libro “Sintesi digitale del suono” (Zedde edizioni) con prefazione di Richard Boulanger (docente di sound synthesis presso il Berklee College of music), di cui esiste anche una versione in lingua inglese (Inside Csound), testo usato in numerosi licei musicali e conservatori; ha inoltre pubblicato articoli di ricerca relativi alla sintesi del suono sul Csound Journal.
Ha lavorato per la società Audivation nel progetto CsoundForLive diretto da R.Boulanger, sviluppando plugin per Ableton live.
Dal 2008 al 2012 è stato assegnista di ricerca in informatica musicale presso il conservatorio« G.Verdi» di Torino.
Ha lavorato nel campo della multimedialità realizzando colonne sonore per cortometraggi e documentari per Raitre (Geo), in collaborazione con il regista/documentarista Pietro Plaia.
Nel 2011 viene selezionato da Luca Francesconi presso la biennale di Venezia per seguire il workshop Ircam sulle tecniche del live electronics, studiando con Emmanuel Jourdan, Grégoire Lorieux and Yan Maresz, presentando la composizione “Quattro miniature per violino ed elettronica”.
Nel 2014 ha tenuto una masterclass presso il conservatorio N. Paganini di Genova sulla composizione assistita, presentando un lavoro software sull’integrazione tra Csound e l’ambiente Pwgl.
Dal 2018 sviluppa una libreria sofware per il controllo del linguaggio SuperCollider in ambiente Open Music, versione beta già disponibile free presso il forum Ircam.
Recentemente ha composto un brano per chitarra ed elettronica in un progetto discografico del chitarrista Davide Ficco, lavoro che vede, tra gli altri, musiche di Corghi, Gavazza, Verlingieri, ecc.
Nel 2018/2019 ha composto la colonna sonora per il film “Youdie” (Antonaci, Mandalà, Lascar) in uscita italiana nel 2020, film vincitore allo ScreamFest di Hollywood nel 2018 e distribuito nelle sale americane.
Nel 2019 ha insegnato informatica musicale presso l’istituto superiore di musica Lettimi di Rimini, attualmente insegna teoria ed armonia presso il GammaInstitute di Torino ed informatica musicale presso il Conservatorio di Cuneo.
