Some very recent, improvised pieces. Mostly, they help to calm the nerves these days.

2025 Tracks: Improvised Pieces & Demos From the First Time in Years that I've Touched my Keyboards.

Recorded just last month (posting in July 2025), fittingly titled "June", with a light shower, and some light music. 🌧

This was performed with the Yamaha SY55, and mixed with a light drizzle that I recorded on my phone, complete with a happy frog. 🐸 If you listen very closely, at one point, you can hear a siren from the nearby street. 

The photo is one I took of the place I was sitting while listening to the rain that's in the recording.

This could be considered Soundtrack music, but I think it's closer to New Age. I hope you enjoy it. 😌

June 𓆏 (Yamaha SY55 Synthesizer + Phone recorded Rainfall, Recorded June 2025).

This was a spontaneous and random piece (the majority of them are!) that I came up with this past April, when I had decided to break out my keyboards again after not touching them for quite a while. I'd been busy tinkering with my bass, and wanted to come back to keys. 🎹

From earlier this year, "twinning" with a really beautiful sound produced by the amazing Yamaha EX7. 💙

One of the things I loved most about my Wavestation, was that although it wasn't easy to program, no matter what you came up with, there was always a sense of movement. Luckily you can do that with other instruments too, if you use the tools that you have. 🛠️

🦇 The Yamaha EX7 has 6 knobs, 3 wheels, aftertouch, an arpeggiator, a ribbon controller, inputs for pedals, MIDI of course, and your imagination. You can have a lot of moving parts within a piece of music with all of those things. ༘⋆♪༄

Here is something I recorded just last week. The high pitched wispy vocal type sounds and the deep low end rumbles all sounded pretty ghostly to me, so "Spirits" it is. Its supposed to be pretty, and maybe it is (you tell me) ... but it's also more than a bit haunted too. 👻

A little experiment I did just last week. I fed one of my little hardware sequencers into the EX7, but while the arpeggiator was engaged. It was predictably random (if that's a thing)! There are Fits and Starts, and then a really nice flourish once in a while, several times in fact, because it was so interesting to hear amongst the fun kind of chaos. #SoundCloud ☁️

This is more Sound Effects than music, but it's kinda cool. The crashing / scraping / hitting effects are all Yamaha EX7 that I recorded several months ago. I added some spacey sounds to it with Pro-53, a Prophet 5 soft synth from Native Instruments.
