Brazil’s Bruno Furlan returns to Hot Creations with his fresh two-track EP, ‘Bongoloco’.  

A DJ and producer whose recent studio endeavours have seen him release material on Black Book Records,  Fool’s Gold and Material, Bruno Furlan is an artist at the centre of Brazil’s recent explosion of names within the  house and tech house landscape. Based in São Paulo, the bubbling talent has built on his early experiences within  the Brazilian electronic music scene to make appearances at global events such as Dirtybird Campout and AMF  Festival. Following an impressive debut on the label with his two-track ‘The Speakers Pump Like This’, late  January brings a return to Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint as he serves up two fresh dancefloor-leaning cuts  across his ‘Bongoloco’ EP.  

“After the first release on Hot Creations, ideas started to boil in my head daily, and I wondered if Jamie  would play every song I started or not. When I started ‘Bongoloco’, it was a very raw groove, and I needed  something striking, a mix between a little crazy and something that made sense in the music. I thought  about adding some percussion, but nothing was good until I came across this bongo and fell in love with  the sound of it on the track. It’s impressive how achievements improve our ideas and performances, and  my Hot Creations debut was one of those. I have no doubt ‘Bongoloco’ only exists thanks to Jamie’s first  ‘Yes’” - Bruno Furlan. 

Title track ‘Bongoloco’ takes cues from its name and showcases a skittering percussion-driven production built for  peak-time hours as warped drum fills and vibrant vocal calls inject an abundance of energy. Keeping things  moving, the rolling ‘Vai’ delivers a slick accompaniment to the package, serving up an anthem built for bustling  terraces worldwide.

Venezuela's Band&dos are two of our favourite Afro House producers. They create club-perfect tracks, and their ability to take a dancefloor on a hypnotic journey puts them up with the best. Since early last year, we've been discussing the kind of record they could do for us. We wanted their touch on a killer vocal, and we've found one thanks to Tato Marenco & Orito Cantora. Columbian-born Miami resident Tato is a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, and Orita's vocals have featured on slow-burning Afro-Latin hits for Monkyman. Together with fellow Venezuelan Markem, they have created "Agua De Rio", an original Latin song with a vintage feel and incredible Afro rhythms. If you're a fan of Hugel's recent hit, "La Vertolaga" - this is for you.

Diego Barrera is a young DJ and producer from Peru living in Miami (via a stint in Argentina). Deep Dish's Sharam gave him his recording debut in 2018, and since then, he has not looked back, signing tracks with heavy-hitting imprints like Rawsome and Whoyostro. His debut for us was the driving Latin Tech of "Libertad", a song that was slept on by many but still found a home in the DJ sets of serious tastemakers like DJ Tennis, Carlita, Latmun, Iglesias & CID. With "Kofumba", he heads into Afro-house territory, teaming up with a Cameroonian vocalist who, despite wanting to fly under the radar in terms of being featured, has delivered a brilliantly rhythmic vocal that partners Barrerra's percussive groove perfectly. Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
