Acclaimed house and techno producer, DJ and label boss Ben Rau makes his DFTD debut with ‘Mind Games’. A Berliner who learned from East London’s highly influential electronic scene, Ben Rau’s sound was formed from many experiences as a club-goer in grassroots spaces. Today his creative, club-led productions are revered on the underground scene as well as on major festival stages globally, like Beatport chart-topping release ‘The Player EP’ with Jansons and ‘8-track’. ‘Mind Games’ lays at the cross-section of underground and accessibility, as scattered bursts of sonic energy and vocal snippets are scaffolded by an energetic, chugging bassline.

Picture a Roaring 1920s debauched, excessive and riotous cocktail party with screaming brass moments meets 1970s funk and disco grooves that loop and tumble you into a hypnotic state while Barry White's voice guides you through the whole experience. After five was designed to make you feel sexy, groovy and a little bit wild. 

Already part of the Life and Death family since “Bey Beh” and “Dale Dale”, @lukealessiofficial ’s music sits in its own lane, refusing to be pigeonholed into any conventional genre. A frequent collaborator of Chloe Caillet, Carlita, Rüfus Du Sol, and many more established talents, 2024 has been a huge year for Alessi, with noticeable DJ debuts from Mexico to Asia via Europe and North America.

He asked Mallin if he'd like to join him and finish it during the studio downtime. It was the right decision; Mallin's effortlessly dreamy music was the perfect tonic for Kevin's deeper pumps. Some sultry chords and slow-burning beats later, and they have spun "Electric Feel" into a future deep house classic. Dive in!

Sidney Charles has built himself an impressive discography in the last couple of years and he makes his EP debut here at OFF with 2 outstanding singles.

The prolific Hamburg native brings rhythm to life with a 909 rendition to jackin house in "Jack On The Rocks", it's all about the classic vibe and the unmistakable shuffle in this one, while we bring Berlin's tech master Santé (Desolat/8Bit) to the remix decks to turn the track into a deeper bass-driven journey with added sax and a groove that will sure get them moving.

Second track is “Soul Station”, also another one for the dancefloor, more signature classic drums, this time with a groovy phat bassline and the ever-so-loved presence of a preacher vocal that sure does the trick…

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
