These were the stories that he told himself, tall tales from long ago which had got lost in the spaces in between. It had been a while since he’d last let himself think about such history and nostalgia for it was buried deep in the recesses of his mind. His memory palace was a place visited once in a blue moon for the magic which lived behind those thick castle walls was sometimes best to be left alone.

Lying amidst the tall grass he watched as the clouds moved slowly by overhead, he’d allowed himself this one afternoon to daydream upon what might of been in another life. He opened the heavy gates and let his memories of a wilder, better time come rushing in.

He closed his eyes and nodded off…

Priori continues to develop and grow as a producer, moving toward deep, pensive textures and atmospheres on a new EP for Midgar Records. The Pareidolia EP is comprised of four tracks of intelligent Techno which teases and intrigues – this is a record which will sound good on dark nights and in smokey rooms.

No VR set needed, Caldera follows the chant of the sirens and the shamanic incantations but never directly references them: a psychoactive journey without the psychedelics. Caldera’s 5D Worlds is a hyperreal ride, from his signature dubby grooves to his lesser known Tech-Trance whopper fantasies – As the BPM evolves, the sound designs morph and the gentle percussion give way to sonar-like synths and binary rhythms. After seven years since his last release, label CEO Mr Assister makes a long-overdue return to beam. Across four tracks, including a remix from close friend of the label, al dente, the EP explores the rhythmic and psychoactive spaces between techno, tek haus, and minimal psy. Opening the EP, ‘Braised’ juxtaposes two sensibilities, situating playful grooves amid droning, disaffected atmospheres. ‘Communing’ builds on the rolling templates of psychedelic trance, with swarms of glitched-out percussion and pads that reveal traces of melancholia. In ‘Broken Through’, four-four kicks dip their toes into streams of acid, reflecting textures of technological breakdown. Rounding off the EP, al dente reimagines ‘Braised’ via his signature brand of warping swamp-tek.
