Descend into the vast underwater world of Melbourne/Naarm producer LOIF(@loiflan).  LOIF's imagination of the mysterious world beneath the shores needs not words to describe it, but your ears to envision it.

'Plunge' presents four tracks of varying liquid moods which illustrate LOIF's versatility and tendency to hop between genres and moods. The EP travels through the depths and rhythms of techno, electro, bass, breaks, psy, glued together by a bubbly warmth reminiscent of oceanic exploration and dance floor groove.

The title is inspired by the phenomenon of recognizing familiar patterns in random objects, which Priori artfully incorporates into his sound design. Priori - Pareidolia EP [snippets]

These were the stories that he told himself, tall tales from long ago which had got lost in the spaces in between. It had been a while since he’d last let himself think about such history and nostalgia for it was buried deep in the recesses of his mind. His memory palace was a place visited once in a blue moon for the magic which lived behind those thick castle walls was sometimes best to be left alone.

Lying amidst the tall grass he watched as the clouds moved slowly by overhead, he’d allowed himself this one afternoon to daydream upon what might of been in another life. He opened the heavy gates and let his memories of a wilder, better time come rushing in.

He closed his eyes and nodded off…

Priori continues to develop and grow as a producer, moving toward deep, pensive textures and atmospheres on a new EP for Midgar Records. The Pareidolia EP is comprised of four tracks of intelligent Techno which teases and intrigues – this is a record which will sound good on dark nights and in smokey rooms.

Deepening the sound well of the Mantis series’ explorations in subliminal club music, Katatonic Silentio (@katatonicsilentio) arrives with four tracks of spatial, subtle and elegant electronics. Milan-based Mariachiara Troianiello’s approach to soundsystem-oriented music has evolved over time, moving from hyperkinetic, breakcore-tinted post-rave music to patient, sound design-rich tapestries on her latest Les Chemins De L’inconnu LP for Ilian Tape.

On Mantis 11 she continues her established leftfield approach while also tapping into a particularly restrained, meditative mode which aligns with the loose ethos orbiting Mantis. Snaking, crooked rhythms plot a course through artfully sculpted reverb and delay - a skeletal, dub-informed sonic stamp shot through with especially expressive production, primed for dancehalls prepared to journey further in pursuit of full immersion.

Four new deep, rhythmic works from Lyon producer Vardae inaugurate new London imprint OODA, co-curated by Forest Drive West and localhost.  The Kaipos EP drifts from ritualistic half tempo drums into deep warping techno and tripped out drones, illustrating Vardae’s unique genre-breaking approach to crafting powerful percussive entrancers for headphones and dancefloor.

A fitting prelude to the OODA project, conceived to explore polyrhythmic techno, bass and ambient experiments in all forms.
