Hey guys!  Been a while!

I've been doing some shows lately (hence not much writing) and thought I'd record and share a rehearsal with you...

This is all played LIVE - no pre-recorded backing tracks... When I perform LIVE, I use a Boomerang Phrase Sampler to allow me to layer all the parts on-the-fly.  This track is recorded mono, however the performance is stereo, I use a panning pedal to spread the layers across the stereo field - this helps with separating the parts, creating more realism, and avoids too much build-up of certain frequencies...

This audio isn't fantastic, as it's pulled from a quicktime video - but you get the drift...

This track is a daily melody from 2011, really hope you like it!

Calypso Round

Aperitif, a chamber orchestra work written this last summer, describes a get together of friends over dinner.  The action is conversational and tends to outline four personalities: one rather accommodating, another strong and somewhat dismissive, another rather alarmist, and another rather overly sentimental.  The discussion catches everybody up on each other and gradually loosens up. Eventually someone becomes a little offended and things become a little uncomfortable.  The gathering gradually dissolves with a promise to meet again.
