Introducing James Hall….

James first jumped on our radar following the release of his French Bunker NRG mix, and we knew we had to get him on board for a Darkkast. Despite lacking in years, the young man exhibits a matured, tasteful pallet of Techno and Hard trance that encapsulates the true essence of rave culture.

Drawing on inspirations from European spearheads Trym, Jan Vercauteren and DJ Reiz, James’ Darkkast launches an all out sonic assault from the get go. Playing tracks by Bours?, Tonni3000 and YÅ and even dabbling in Showtek’s iconic ‘Fuck The System’, the hammer and tong approach and eclectic variety of heavers will only leave you wanting more.

Next up in the mix, is the all wax wielding, Scandinavian Techno Viking, Rogan. Also known by his peers as Josh Close. 

With a resume boasting a number of remarkable slots, some of which Melbourne’s finest would be jealous of, Rogan’s 6 years of DJ experience has seen him land bookings at Beyond the Valley festival, Revs Cage AND Stage, and the electric Synesthetic parties. 

Over the last couple of years Rogan has refined his sound and dialled in to the land of heavy Techno, hard-hitting Trance and broken beats, ditching his CDJs and fully migrating to wax in the process. His Darkkast is a stellar insight into his killer record collection and epic chop as a young DJ, showcasing a healthy mix of some of his favourite tracks from artists like Tham, DJ Gigola, Perc, Schacke and Rove Ranger.

AFTERHOURS DARKKAST // 07 - ROGAN

Heatwave Tommy is an experimentalist by nature, combining his love of left field house and techno with strong 90’s trance influences. With a desire to push expression into the unknown and he sticks to no rigid boundaries or constraints.

In a relatively short career, yet having a long list of club scalps to his name, Tommy has been able to showcase his unique sound of hypnotic, relentless Trance and Techno all across the city. Also making (heat)waves is the birth of his recent party label Haptic, a crew commonly known for their hard-hitting secret raves in some of the best underground locations in Melbourne.

AFTERHOURS DARKKAST // 06 - HEATWAVE TOMMY

Relive the wild closing set from our 3rd birthday celebrations, by DJ and production powerhaus Suki.

As the 24 year old Naarm/Melbourne based artist and esteemed Equinox veteran notches up his 10th year of producing everything from Electro, Techno and Trance, to Minimal Tech House, to jilted Hip Hop beats, Suki's stocks only continue to rise in Melbourne's firing underground dance scene. Inspired by the rawness of early Hip Hop, Techno, House, Trance and Jungle sonics in both productions and DJing, 2021 brings on the birth of a number of new creative projects. With forthcoming releases on esteemed labels and exciting collaborations with a number of artists, he is definitely one to keep your eye on this year.

With humble experience being overshadowed by a wealth of musical knowledge and raw talent, LivTee is an artist at the beginning of an extremely bright career trajectory.

A committed crate digger and tune hunter-gatherer by nature, LivTee possesses a finessed taste of all things deep, proggy and highly danceable. Drawing on inspirations from artists currently at the top of their game like Skee Mask, Underworld and Priori, she curates her track selections cleverly and repackages existing sound through unique, creative mixes.

GH GoldCast 021 | LivTee

Coming in hot from Northern France is our first international Afterhours guest mix. 

Lille based, up-and-coming DJ and producer CLARA, encapsulates a techno pureness that is best to be experienced, rather than us try put it into words. Seamlessly blending hypnotic rhythms, pounding kicks and basslines, and exotic textures, her sound flaunts talent and experience that could only be gained in one of the best underground party scenes Europe has on offer.  

Finding inspiration in scene icons like Blawan, Aphex Twin, Helena Hauff and Perc helped sculpt her sound that one could describe as the fierce crossroads of Mental Techno, Industrial, IDM and EBM.  In this particular mix you’ll find selections on the speedy, hypnotic side from artists like Stef Mendesidis, Rene Wise, Stranger and Setaoc Mass.

AFTERHOURS DARKKAST // 08 - CLARA [FR]

It’s a rarity that a mix could slap in almost all situations, but this hour of selections from not-so-new-to-the-scene but up-and-coming vibe slinger Lums World can do exactly that. 

Drawing on inspirations from certified party legends Roza Terenzi, Adam Pits and Brame & Hamo, and technically balancing a classy combo of modern Prog sounds, raw UK break cuts, Electro and of course Trance (naturally), it’s no surprises that Lums World’s hits all the idealistic levels of vibrancy, positive energy and power that one might be chasing in an hour of curated dance music.

With a passion for igniting the dancefloor in the purest sense, coupled with a strong ravers instinct, DJ Belle’s unique sound of energetic electro, house and breaks is one to behold.

Whether it be cutting her teeth in some of Melbourne’s most beloved venues like Glamorama, XE54 and Colour Club, or establishing her presence on the airwaves through mixes with Area 3000 Radio, Melt Melbourne and Synesthetic, DJ Belle has proven herself to be one of Melbourne’s real up-and-coming talents. She also makes up one half of PlayGroup, alongside best friend Camilla, throwing down high-energy electro, breakbeat and nostalgic trance mixes.

Established in 2017, eclectic. is a Sydney based label first and foremost, as well as a platform aiming to highlight dance and design as one. A rotation of resident graphic artists and dance music selectors allows their 'phase' mix series to nurture Australian up and comers, embracing eclecticism in all senses of the word. With a slew of releases and events under their belt, eclectic continue on their path of bringing attention to what the Australian arts has to offer.

Going on 4 long months (on top of the rest) absent from our beloved dance floors, this 85 minute selection is a nod to their nocturnal escapades. Enjoy a plethora of peak time cuts from the likes of DJ Life, Escape Artist, D. Tiffany and Lisene.

GH GoldCast 024 | eclectic. DJs

Hailing from Geelong’s ever-growing talent pool of DJs and magical music minds, Poyner brings to the table a tasteful and highly danceable sound that is undeniably his own.

His GoldCast is a big nod to his inspirations and the current sound of the Melbourne dance music scene, like Prog Kingpins: Suki, DJ Life and Solar Suite, as well as included selections from up-and-coming local vibe-slingers Sam Alfred and Stum.

Showcasing an ear for energetic sounds and euphoric vibes , and a fine knowledge of what it takes to get bodies moving in it’s truest essence, Poyner’s currently underground profile is one to watch out for.

New girl on the block Nak, throws down a hard-hitting, electronic energy that is undeniably her own. With DJ inspirations stemming from Roza Terenzi, Sansibar and Aloka it’s no doubt her exotic blends are starting to turn heads.

Keep your eyes and ears out for Nak. Upcoming sets include High Ground where she’s supporting Sleep D, and Dr Morse for Arvo Girls in a couple of weeks. If Electro, Jungle, Acid and breaks are your flavour, Nak’s your girl.

After a lengthy hiatus, we’re excited to return our GoldCast series. First up is Naarm local, Gomery. 

Gomery has proven his prowess in mixing and track selection, not being defined by a single stylistic label. He meticulously curates a beautiful selection of sounds from across the globe spanning the genres of progressive house, trance and ethereal breaks.

Gomery's avid and constantly evolving affinity for electronic music allowing him to transcend and collaborate ideas with neighbouring artists. His most recent artistic endeavours helped to form Naarm-based rave collective Haptic, collaborating with artists such as DJ Ali, Neri J and DJ Spit, to name a few. With no signs of slowing down, Gomery is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for including his forthcoming debut LP in collaboration with Budg of Midnite Snack/Glitch Malta.

From Trance and hard house to breakbeat and DnB, the daarons genre range will always keep you guessing. 

Coming onto the scene just before covid lockdowns, isolation lead to an electronic deep dive that’s resulted in a diverse sound and style. Having recently gone head first into music production, that broad taste and style has clearly reflected onto how a daarons track is assembled.

Making up 1/2 of Grand Theft Audio, tackling the back end logistics of Bloom Nightclub, shooting photography for many big name Naarm artists like Sam Alfred, Makk and Tom Santa and shooting at Naarms very own Xe54 nightclub, daarons is quite the busy guy, yet still manages to deliver an energetic and fresh performance every time he’s on stage, landing him an interstate gig at Boorloo/Perth’s the Vault, and supporting some of the highest profile acts in the scene.

What better way to debut the GoldHaus soundcloud than have one of our head honchos and founding fathers record an eclectic mix of jungle, house and spacey tech. Vafum, also one of our resident DJ's, always impresses with his tasteful selection and vibe control, and this mix is no exception. Join him for just under an hour of polished VINYL ONLY jockeying.

To celebrate Ricky's recent addition to the Gold Haus residency roster, we asked him to exhibit some of this favourite tracks at the moment. The Scandinavian thoroughbred was hard to track down, but when we finally got a hold of him, he was overjoyed and told us: "akk, jeg er glad for å spille en miks for deg".

Mistral Men’s ever-evolving taste in music is perfectly encapsulated in this 55 minute mix of electro, trance and garage. A constant characteristic of their sets/mixes is that they’re never taken too seriously, and they’ve stuck by that here with the inclusion of an incredibly rude remix of Old Town Road. Their love for fast-paced dancefloor movers and their passion for Carrying On™️ is the perfect combination for the final two hours of our upcoming summer day party at Section 8, a treat for your eyes and ears that cannot be missed.

Fresh off the back of a killer set supporting Denis Sulta and Bradley Zero, and in anticipation for her golden hour slot at our upcoming Gold Haus Section 8 day party....We've been lucky to receive a polished recording from no other than Monfreaq.

Monique aka Monfreaq discovered her passion for Djing while living in the Netherlands and has since brought back her wide appreciation for all kinds of music, as well as a desire for more freedom and diversity in Melbourne's nightlife. In this mix she has explored her more chilled side, weaving together a soothing journey through deep dubby techno, ambient breaks and transcendent DNB, perfect for experimental dancing when home alone.

Whilst Joshua Evans may be an unfamiliar name in Melbourne club land, he definitely gives every reason to pay him some deserved respect and attention. Whilst we are all holding up tight in isolation, Joshua has been kind enough to prepare a mix full of his favourite melodic deep grooves and trance records. This is one of our favourite recordings to date and really encapsulates some powerful positive energies that we all need right now.

FINALLY, we were lucky enough to get our hands on the last 2 hours of Dean Turnley's epic extended closing set at our most recent Section 8 party.

The Melbourne based DJ and producer, and one of the city’s best kept secrets, is running strong from six enormous years of professional experience both nationally and internationally, truly setting some solid roots in an already abundant underground music scene.

Since his return to Melbourne, Dean has been a regular fixture at various local dance institutions, specifically Prahran hotspots Revolver and Circus, as well as regularly travelling interstate to share his brand of bass driven magic to the unsuspecting masses. He has recently turned his full creative focus to his personal productions with some exciting collaborations and originals set for release at the end of the year. STAY TUNED.

With a unique sound that blends electro, tribal and trance influences, it's no question that Gold Haus head honcho and resident selector Willem is one our most prized figures.

With the recent Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in place, Willem has utilised his extra time fine tuning his DJing and production skills in the studio. It's allowed him to explore and experiment with some fresh new sounds, breathing new life and energy into his craft. Be sure to keep an ear out for 2 of his own projects that were recently completed in preparation for his GoldCast.

@Garth – the moniker of Alex Dent – is a versatile selector who draws upon a wide array of musical influences. With sets that weave from amen jungle breaks to deep Chicago house grooves, nothing is out of bounds. This mix sees him deliver an hour mix of high-energy space age tunes sure to send you into orbit.

A diehard dance music fanatic, Pretty Girl (Emilia Predebon) spent the last three years finding her footing in Melbourne’s electronic music scene. Production came first for PG, teaching herself Ableton for the last of her teen years, discovering an aptitude for both the creative and technical components of the art form. The live set came next, where PG found herself performing most weekends throughout 2019, the most notable being Handle’s intimate, lively warehouse event, which she headlined in August. The final addition to PG’s repertoire was DJing, which advanced quickly, being taken on by Novel early in 2020 to support Man Power, DJ Boring, and Dusky. 

Throughout the pandemic so far, PG has found herself both experiencing the common adversity of feeling stagnant, but also gratitude for the opportunity to slow down and plan for the near future. After signing with a new agency (TBA) in April, PG spends her days creating and preparing for future releases, which will be announced in the next 6 months. 

For her anticipated GoldCast, PG has put together a signature blend of classic Chicago house, ethereal breaks, high-energy-house numbers, and most excitingly Skee Mask’s “Fjorward Flex Dub”, which she has described as a “bitch to mix” since her earliest days on the decks.

With the next instalment to the GoldCast series, we welcome our first international guests all the way from Aberdeen, UK. Dan and Fraser, or more commonly known as:  t e s t p r e s s   have signed, sealed and shipped an hour of pumping house and break  selections across the pacific. 

With a plethora of releases to their name, including the notorious ‘leavemealone’ and ‘hustlin’, the boys have only further cemented their name as a production powerhouse with 3 volumes worth of self released house and break heaters during Covid times. The last few months were also topped off with their highly anticipated release ‘SMML EP’ on @patricktopping ’s @trick_label .

We were lucky enough to catch them on their way to top, with regular plays on Radio 1, features on Rinse FM and their recent addition to the star studded earth agency roster, the future is looking ever so bright for  t e s t p r e s s .

Introducing TJP….

Despite being a name most would not recognise, this young DJ carries the type of raw talent seen in artists well beyond his years. 

Heavily influenced by the underground European rave scene that is home to the likes of MRD, Trym and TRBL, TJP focuses on curating mixes to portray his own musical vision through the selection of vocal driven breaks, powerful kicks, and futuristic techno and trance energies. Keep an ear out for his flawless multi track layering through out his Darkkast, as well of his signature use of vocal acapellas.

A man about town, Nick Biggins aka BLUI doesn’t need much of an introduction…

A regular fixture in Melbourne clubland, BLUI has been a focal point in the next generation of homegrown DJs, especially after noteworthy performances at Strawberry Fields and the iconic 2017 Pitch Music and Arts Festival.

Over the last year, BLUI has been showcasing his own talents as well as unearthing an array of local underground warriors on his weekly radio show MACH ONE AUDIO on Kiss FM. The combination of his deep crate digging and sophisticated mixing abilities sure impresses and we were lucky enough to get our hands on one of his radio recordings that was recently aired. Buckle in for an action packed journey of smooth breaks, cosmic tech house and trancey vibrations.

As a designer and resident selector with the synesthetic crew, Tattooist at Kizu Studio and undeniably talented DJ of all things dark and energetic , it’s no wonder people are really starting to take notice of the multifaceted Inès. 

Blossoming out of a long, isolated Lockdown, her natural inspiration from all domains of art forms has helped shape her fine style of art and musical taste, and her love for dark, energetic and powerful sound is well and truly evident in her DarkKast mix. Within her mix - which one could describe as a 50 minute chaotic dark masterpiece - you’ll find a number of Techno sub-genres, Trance, some Gabber, more Techno and then some more Trance to finish off. Pedal to the metal all the way.

After an unbelievable performance at our first Gold Haus event post-covid lockdown, we are amped to share Bella’s set recording with you all. Whether you were fortunate enough to witness in the flesh, or are hearing for the first time, we’re sure you’ll appreciate the hour of fun, punchy vibes that she threw down in the afternoon sun. 

If you’ve been living under a rock and Bella’s name doesn’t quite ring a bell, then let yourself be educated. She single handedly has created and curated Melbourne’s premier stream series, In House Radio; is a resident at the renown Creatures Events, and; features regularly at parties thrown by Melbourne big names like Novel and Palace Trax. Her sets radiate raw party power and could be described as a banging genre cocktail, exploring the boundaries of Euro Trance, House, Electro, Italo, Breakbeat and Techno… shaken, not stirred.
