Metamorphosis Two, from Philip Glass' Solo Piano album composed in 1989. This part is also the theme from the film The Hours and is also used in the film The Thin Blue Line (Houston Skyline).

The instrument is a Clavia Nord Stage 2 using a sampled Yamaha C7 grand piano, with reverb, delay, and some dark synth.

As we get ready for a busy summer, of spreading the sound of tomorrow across the globe, we can't help but take a step back and bring you all the feel good, forward thinking music you know and love from Soulection. This installment of our White Label series comes from 18 year old London composer, songwriter, guitarist, singer & violinist, Tom Misch. We felt the need to list all of this in the description, because each track is such an audio masterpiece. This one is for everyone, but true fans of Dilla, and smooth, mellow, R&B inspired hip-hop beats, will definitely enjoy this release.

"Basically this EP is me attempting to make instrumentals that will effect people moods in a positive way but also make people think, all produced and recorded by myself in my bedroom. The Los Angeles (by way of Cleveland) producer created the bulk of the material in 2010 during the sessions that would eventually lead to his Palm Reader and Coral releases.   The largely instrumental compositions reincorporate the dusty paths of Exotica and Tropicália, assimilating structures more recently forged by hip-hop and electronic crate-diggers.  The resultant sounds hint at a strange utopia, warm and inviting yet located just over the horizon of reality.

The reissue features expanded artwork, a single-gatefold jacket, and vinyl-only bonus tracks.  Two different vinyl colorways are being released.   The first edition, limited to 750 copies, is pressed on Transparent Sapphire wax and will be available online and in retail stores.  A second, exclusive pressing of the album (also limited to 750 copies) will also be made available to members of record of the month club Vinyl Me, Please.  The VMP version features Transparent Smoky Quartz colored vinyl and a new original art booklet with liner notes.  You must be a member of the club to order this special pressing and can do so by requesting an invite.

Ohioan's new album, EMPTY / EVERY MT, is a record of protest songs but this is nothing like protest music you've heard before. This is a new form of country music. It's Appalachian mountain music mashed-up with African desert music played by a dude raised in the shadow of Appalachia who now lives in the desert. (Read that twice if you need to; it's important to the story.) EMPTY / EVERY MT is an album about the "Appalachian Desert," a concept created by Ohioan band-leader Ryne Warner. He posits that one day mountaintop removal and mining will level the forests of Appalachia, turning once lush land into an arid desert-scape not unlike parts of the American West and North Africa. The music here was made using the sounds associated with those places--banjo, dobro, jaw harp, dulcimer, African scales, the electric guitar, modal tunings. The result is an image of Warner's Appalachian Desert rendered in sound.
