“삼보레코드(Sambo Records)는 친구들이랑 술을 마시다가 한번 만들어봤는데… 삼보컴퓨터라는 회사의 이름을 따와서 지었습니다. 지금 생각해보면 국산 컴퓨터 회사가 사실 미국 컴퓨터 회사와 비교를 한다는게 말이 안되는 일인데, 청계천의 작은 가게에서 출발해서 회사가 큰 규모로 커졌고 서구열강들과 경쟁을 한번 했다는 점이 멋있다고 생각했습니다. 그래서 저희도 국산 전자음악을 만들어서 외국에도 좀 보내고 국내에 전자음악이 생소한 사람들에게 음원 차트이외에 좋은 음악이 많다는걸 알리는게 목표입니다.“

“Sambo Records started casually while drinking with my friends… I named it after a company called Sambo Computer which is a domestic computer company started from a small store in Cheonggyecheon and competed with some big global companies with many disadvantages. Isn’t it quite cool? In a same way, Sambo record is domestic label and publishes Korean underground music to the world and local people unfamilliar with local electronic music.”
