Além de produzirem noites intimistas no sul de Londres, com convidados como Seb Wildblood, Hidden Spheres, Jitwam, Glenn Astro, Will Saul, e Asquith, tiveram recentemente radio shows ativos em programas como Balamii, Rinse FM, HÖR e Worldwide FM.

Renowned for cleverly fusing different musical influences into timeless contemporary jams, Athlete Whippet are a duo spread across Berlin and London and have become an integral part of both cities’ scenes in recent years with releases and remixes for the likes of Toy Tonics, Rhythm Section and Kitsuné Musique. Taking a communal approach to music making, they co-run artist collective and record label Squareglass - a proudly established home for new artists coming out of South London. They've also been hosting intimate nights with DJs from far across the electronic music ecosystem in London and Berlin since 2019. Guest sets from the likes of Seb Wildblood, Hidden Spheres, Jitwam, Glenn Astro, Aus Music head Will Saul, Lobster Theremin founder Asquith and some of London's brightest new talents have made for some unmissable parties in London's cosiest venues. The duo's releases have also come with reworks from Ross  from Friends, Baltra and Max Graef. Supporters incl. Pete Tong, Annie Mac (BBC 1), Tom Ravenscroft, Jamz Supernova (BBC 6), Mixmag, DJ Mag. Following a lockdown season with shows on Balamii, Rinse FM, HÖR and Worldwide FM (with guests incl. Nicola Cruz, Lefto, Nightwave), the duo have ended 2021 with European tour dates alongside Session Victim, Dan Shake, Paula Tape, Esa Williams and COEO. Their latest EP 'Nogueira' has seen strong support across DSPs, landing them on the cover of Spotify's 'Fresh Finds Dance' playlist.

The Toy Tonics army makes its debut this week on SOULMEEX PRO with his "Italianissimo" Sam Ruffillo.

The man behind the highly acclaimed Danza Organica, recently explained on an Instagram post his long path to success: twenty years making beats and arranging music with different aliases, around eight or nine different artistic projects, remix contests won and hard work plus consistency as the key of everything.

His music is very special indeed and we’re still trying to make up our mind if it is Italian disco, funky house, balearic…Or maybe all together at the same time.

What we know for sure is that we’re in front of a present and future star of electronic music.

That’s the reason why he’s caught the attention of many big names in the business, his gigs are increasing week by week and he’s been remixed already by the likes of Musumeci, Art of Tones or Eli Escobar. That, with just a few EPs released in Toy Tonics, Jakarta or Irma Records among others.

While we carefully observe his next steps in the wonderful world of electronic music, it’s time to have a ball with his SOULMEEX PRO 003.

SonarMix 031: Toy Tonics (Kapote & Sam Ruffillo)

Hotlane - the slow house/ indie-pop-duo from Berlin are coming with their first EP. They have been described as sounding like a mixture of Chromatics, Portishead and Nicolas Jaar - and it's true - they are not far from that.
Agnes' voice has this fine, slightly Scandinavian filigranity. Something special that you get only in Nordic voices. Jack Tennis' sometimes raw, often just easy flowing, never pretentious backing tracks reflect this certain melancholy that you get in never-ending, grey, cold Berlin winters. Together they create these shining little Hotlane-pearls.

Agnes and Jack met in Berlin a few years ago. She came because of a modelling job, stayed because of a love thing and used to work at legendary BROKEN HEARTS CLUB - where Jack was djing. Jack Tennis makes his living by playing vinyl at Berlin off -happenings and insider -clubs like Kingsize, Konzulat and Ritter Butzke. The six songs they recorded over the last 3 years are truly something special. It's easy to fall in love with Agnes' and Jack's wonderful world of whispering sounds.
