We premiered first NAAR some weeks ago with the track Le Clerc by Man Power. "Not An Animal" returns with their 2nd installment, this time from Ess O Ess (aka Chris Stoker co head-honcho of the label and his pal Jamie Blanco) Package is made of three tracks, the original mix backed with two remixes. One being by japanese Chida, owner of "Ene Records" and the other featured here, by prolific Los Angeles producer Suzanne Kraft (remember the devastating "Renee Running" under his moniker "Dude Energy") with a juxtaposed tropical techno - with added dub - approach to his interpretation. It's out early junuary 2016, Enjoy !

Isle Of Jura starts life with an official reissue of the highly sought after ‘Fire In My Heart’ 12” by Escape From New York. 

Originally released in 1984 ‘Fire In My Heart’ fuses elements of disco, funk and new wave to create a mystical masterpiece. ‘Won’t Be Your Fool’ has more obvious 80’s leanings and the 12” closes with the Instrumental Dub of ‘Fire In My Heart’, stripping back the vocals and letting the bassline work its magic. Completely re-mastered for 2016 and distributed worldwide by Rush Hour.

Escape From New York 'Fire In My Heart' (Original Mix)

The Smackos disco45 12" remix of this one particular track from the soundtrack of the 1985 "The Falcon & The Snowman" movie, first heard in the Legowelt Resident Advisor mix from a few years ago. Check those melancholical bassoon clarinet patches from the EMU EMAXII and little blobs of Other People Place influenced style modulated SH101 riffs. PREMIERE - Great White Shark - Choices (Skelesys Remix) (M&O Music)

Gerd Janson sends Rheinzand into orbit with this turbocharged remix double. The Running Back label owner and longstanding DJ heavywheight enlists his house music fluency, revving up the disco gleam of ‘Blind’ on its own terms. Charlotte Caluwaerts vocals reverberate through space ray arpeggiators and burnished drum gates in a pulsating play of silver and silk. Janson’s effort here sends our thoughts to gentler times as we imagine it either booming from a preposterous sound system in a sweaty basement or glowing in Mediterranean starlight. Either way, the energy of this one deserves a real dancefloor so let’s hope it gets one soon. ‘Blind’ featured on Rheinzand’s self-titled debut album, which came out in 2019 to high acclaim, named Piccadilly Records’ album of the year. This release, featuring Janson’s ‘Dance’ and ‘Dub’ remixes, comes within a series of remixes of tracks from that album. A few more (including other treatments of ‘Blind’) will follow before we finally compile them all in a remix album, celebrating Rheinzand’s chameleon take on dance music.
