"Leave No Trace"... a mantra borrowed from the more purist and hardcore camping ethicists. The general idea behind it being that you must minimize all environmental impact whenever you engage with the natural world as a means of responsibility. 
Around the time of this mix I was fascinated by Lee Lozano’s Dropout Piece and Seth Price’s How To Disappear In America — wondering what would it feel like to voluntarily drop out completely, to really leave no trace? Especially, what would our beloved planet look like? 
Musically, what I wanted to illustrate with this mix were two sides of an untouched and unpopulated planet. The eternal, chaotic hum of the natural world, the glow of an empty city left on overnight....Honk if you don't exist."

It is so interesting that periods suddenly come in life that seem to completely format the space around, charging it with sparks of a much needed, sometimes scorching experience...It's what happened with me...

I live in a small, lost on maps town, called OM, surrounded by the sea on one side and vast forests, pierced like a circulatory system by the veins of rivers on the other...Someone says that OM exists, while others have never even heard of such a place...Imagine, there is such a story that somewhere 50 years ago, in newspapers you can find articles proving the non-existence of this city, and then, apparently, the same wise men refuted these strange theories...

Everything in my life was moving in a measured way, following the vector of an illusory game of stability imposed from childhood...It's absurd in a constantly changing world, but everything looks so serious...It felt like a wall was built around this place, hiding the flow of time of the surrounding world, isolating us from ourselves... This contributed to one degree or another to the acquired indifference to many manifestations of human qualities that are inherent in the original embodiment of our species...But, to my pleasure, the space around me moved against my tyrannical expectations, constancy and non-interference in life...And, you know,  it definitely had more plans for me...

I vaguely remember exactly when, but at some point, thanks to the results of this external movement, I was able to see things as they are, observing everything from the outside, without interfering with the processes...It's as if every time you take a step into the abyss, in an attempt to find out what is there - in the dark matter of this eternal radiance?

All these transformations undoubtedly caused waves of protest and a desire to escape to my shelter - a huge Fossil...It is likely that for many millions of years it has been hiding from outsiders, but opens up to those who are ready to dissolve in musical form, in poetry supported by the voices of instruments...There, an understanding comes to me that rhythms are cyclical, like ebb and flow, and compositions, with proper immersion in them, no longer contain sharpness and do not allow the listener to be taken by surprise...You can also say that all this is the result of the desire to put the clocks on the dial down...

Phase Group is a record label in Glasgow run by MR TC and Lo Kindre. Both artists have been active in the Glasgow scene for a good while now, releasing music individually on labels like Optimo and 12th isle as well as collaborating on releases for vienna's Neubau and most recently for the first release on Phase Group. To celebrate the launch of Narr they've put together an hour of sci-fi dub rhythms.
