Good Street Records are proud to present another installment in their eclectic #FWUK #TRAX series. This volume features tracks from two regulars, and welcomes two new artists to the lineup.
The release kicks off with a Chicago inspired track titled 'Do This Shit' by label head http://soundcloud.com/ventah, combining a driving bass with laid back synths. Next up is 'Religion' by http://soundcloud.com/junglord, a Juke/Jungle hybrid, clearly showing his ability to mix the two genres; solid Footwork rhythms with hard Jungle breaks. Taking inspiration from 90s Rave and Hardcore music, '1992' by http://soundcloud.com/crypticz-1 is a certain dancefloor filler. Nicely rounding off the release is 'Attention' from newcomer http://soundcloud.com/simon-duckett. A strong and dark Juke track, nicely using a strong vocal (can you guess where its from?).

1. DJ YB - Twerk Work Out Plan

In keeping with Good Street Records' determination to showcase both well-known and lesser known producers in the UK Footwork / UK160 Bass scene, we are pleased to present FWUK TRAX Seven, the 7th instalment in our UK Footwork series. 

We kick off with one of the biggest names in the UK Footwork scene, the formidable producer soundcloud.com/dspndnt. In the wake of his self-released Monorail EP in June, he brings a track with a similar vibe, titled Late Night Ridin. Things can only get bigger for Dispondant. 
Next up is soundcloud.com/simon-duckett with his track Find A Way, a powerful track with a big bass, ravey stabs and funky whistles. Duckett has really stepped it up a level with his recent work. 

Third up is Nation by soundcloud.com/ventah. This track is another track exploring Ventah's influences - this time coming in with a soulful hip-hop vibe, stealing samples from both reggae and rap acapellas. 
Next up we are pleased to introduce soundcloud.com/b3no. Having worked behind the scenes on the Good Street website and running clothing label Sublow, this is his first release on the label. Carolina Bela explores how samples from funk, soul and world music can be used in a Footwork context. Expect his Lay In The Sauna EP later this year on Good Street. 

We are pleased to welcome back soundcloud.com/bovinedancesyndrome, who earlier this year released his Caapi EP on Good Street. We Are The Same is a strong track from this budding producer. 
The EP finishes off with newcomer soundcloud.com/curlscurlscurls, with his track Anybody. Soulful synths + female vocals samples give way to a distorted 808 bassline + gunshot samples. A USA/UK hybrid at its finest.

We welcome back both Samurai Breaks and Regent Cid to Good Street. Released under the moniker Chimping, Samurai Breaks put out 'Monkey Bizznizz' in August 2014 (https://soundcloud.com/goodstreetrecords/sets/gstr033) and Regent Cid blessed our soundsystems with 'Fodder' back in May 2014 (https://soundcloud.com/goodstreetrecords/sets/gstr030).

And here they are again. This time teaming up for a joint EP exploring the varying degrees of footwork jungle - focusing on the harder, faster Jungle/Breakcore spectrum of Footwork. These tracks highlight the style both producers are becoming synonymous with - chopped drum breaks, intense rhythms + dark synths, all while keeping that driving Footwork energy.

1. Samurai Breaks - Get The Strap

For our last release of 2015, we welcome back 2tall and DJ YB to Good Street, for yet another Juke/Footwork EP - this time accompanied by a music video. 

Featuring 3 dancers from Minnesota (Devon, Nana and DJ YB himself), this audio/visual EP aims to give a wider context to the music, showing Footwork dancing filmed in Minnesota alongside 4 tracks from the EP.   

Juke Chronicles presents a darker, raw, more stripped back sound than the previous EPs. Hard hitting percussion, delayed vocals and pulsating bass makes this EP both for the dancers, and a way to intrigue European club goers. Boom

This release also continues the two producers previous body of work on Good Street - having released the High Off Juke EP (with DJ Curt) in Nov 2014 (http://music.goodstreetrecords.com/album/high-off-juke-ep), and the Twerk Work Out Plan (with DJ Seven Six) released in May 2015 (http://music.goodstreetrecords.com/album/twerk-work-out-plan).

2. 2tall - Dat Kush Aint Hittin 15

With releases on Duck N' Cover Records and Booty Tune, and recently launching his own record label Equalized, https://soundcloud.com/eqwhy is making big steps both in Chicago and throughout the world. And now we are proud to welcome him to the biggest Footwork label in the UK, https://soundcloud.com/goodstreetrecords.

Rewind back to 2001-2002 when EQ Why started producing and DJing... long before social media, when real work got put in... and you can hear how that era has influenced his current sound - tracks made for the Footwork circle. Hunt out the videos online and you'll find dancers at Chicago's Battlegroundz battling to the tracks on this EP.

The raw, syncopated energy in these five tracks is unmistakeably https://soundcloud.com/eqwhy. The conga rolls and tight percussion is an important element of his sound, and has been done expertly in this release. Upbeat tracks such as 'Swingin Wit Dis' and 'SouthWest' are contrasted with darker, more in-your-face tracks such as 'My Brothers Keeper' and 'Get High'.

An EP full of heat, produced by one of the biggest producers in the game, and released by one of the most comprehensive and relentless labels in the scene. A real power move for both, pushing the Juke / Footwork sound hard in 2016.

With dreams of touring and spreading the Footwork culture, Jalen releases his 1st EP titled Travell's Pads. We at Good Street are excited to be working with this talented producer and dancer.

4. Traxman & DJ Deeon - All U Pussy MF

Based in Good Street’s current hometown of Leeds, https://soundcloud.com/breakaleeds is an upcoming producer with many strings to his bow. Blending elements of Footwork, Grime and Jungle, Breaka has crafted three deep, hard-hitting tracks. 

'Foot Forward' and 'Outta Control' are serious dancefloor destroyers, and will fit into a Footwork, Jungle or Grime set with ease. Closing the EP, 'Aromatic Riddim' is a chilled, Jungle-inspired track, with deep pounding bass that will test your subs. 

All in all this is a top-notch release from the young producer.  Undoubtedly, https://soundcloud.com/breakaleeds will be putting out more music this year. One to watch!

We're proud to say that this release also continues the Good Street tradition of giving upcoming producers a platform to release their music untainted. Relentlessly.

2. Breaka - Foot Forward

Continuing our run of releases of UK160 tracks (yes thats what we're calling it now), https://soundcloud.com/purplefuture joins the Good Street ranks, alongside https://soundcloud.com/breakaleeds and https://soundcloud.com/fekix-uk (and soon https://soundcloud.com/waltersben) in releasing some monster material.

Channelling grime, jungle and footwork, London based https://soundcloud.com/purplefuture has produced tracks that are right at home on Good Street. Progressive and forward-thinking while still retaining the essence of aforementioned vibes.

'Future Tapes' doesn't let up or shy away. The four tracks blend perfectly well together both as an EP and in DJ sets. Serve on the 2nd room soundsystem at peak time, after everyones had a few key bumps.

2. Purple Future - Bark Off

Continuing the vibe of our recent UK160 releases and receiving support from some big DJs in the scene, this release from https://soundcloud.com/waltersben brings an end to our Summer 2016 releases. Originally featuring on Good Street on FWUK Trax Eight (https://soundcloud.com/goodstreetrecords/sets/gstr039) back in January 2015, Walters has since been progressing in his productions and carving out his own sound.

Rightly so, he has since landed spots on the Juke World Order Vol. 3, a recent EP on https://soundcloud.com/reform-music-uk, and a track on the forthcoming 160 Grime EP from https://soundcloud.com/sublowclothing.

As standard, elements of grime, jungle and footwork abound. Dark jungle tones on All Day get the EP off to a solid start. Walters brings a dubstep feel to Man A Dus and Upper Cuts. The already successful Make Them Bump favours a ravey grime vibe, relentlessly driving until the end.

This EP could fit anywhere into the underground rave scene, in London, Leeds, Berlin, or Bristol, and, along with the recent releases from https://soundcloud.com/breaka, https://soundcloud.com/fekix-uk and https://soundcloud.com/purplefuture, it exhibits how this sound has progressed.

Hailing from Austria, Sun People aka https://soundcloud.com/simon-off once again shows the quality of production that has given rise to his reputation. With previous releases on Hyperboloid, Beat Machine and Disko404, here he now is on https://soundcloud.com/goodstreetrecords, providing us with some of that 160 Bass, drenched in Jungle, Disco and Footwork influences. The tracks have a confident, club ready vibe, and Sun People has sculpted them for maximum impact. 

Mastered by Macc at Subvert Central Mastering, these tracks pack a real punch. The title tracks begins the EP as it means to go on - funky, bassy and anything-but-boring. 'There Is Always A Place' is a solid roller, exhibiting tight percussion. 'The One For Me' starts with a funky 160 vibe, and slowly deconstructs until we're left with bass, breaks and drums. 

Artistic freedom and expression is evident throughout - this allows https://soundcloud.com/simon-off to breathe new life into multiple genres, bringing them together as a cohesive musical statement.

2. Sun People - There Is Always A Place

Ghetto, raw, unprocessed Chicago Juke/Footwork at its finest, and Windy City native https://soundcloud.com/djmcworld is at the forefront of this. And rightly so. His brand of Footwork is ghetto-house influenced, and the simplicity of the tracks elements (bass, drums, sample only) reflect this. 

Sometimes sexual (Run A Train), often emotional (Who Would I Be) and normally confrontational (Ima Fuck It Up), https://soundcloud.com/djmcworld has a skill for chopping samples, giving them a new lease of life in a completely original way.

Collabing with legend https://soundcloud.com/traxman-2 on What That Do!!!, we are excited to add another true Chicago pioneer to the Good Street roster.

Rootless is made-up of two friends based in Valencia, who met Malou at a DnB party (named 'Breaking Bass Parties'). They became friends and produced music together, part of which can be heard here. 

We also welcome back https://soundcloud.com/londydub to Good Street, after his No Offense EP was released back in September 2014. The Boston based producer adds a ghetto edge, working the track through a choppy journey.

Detroit Ghettotech meets Chicago Footwork meets UK Bass in this amalgamation of styles and sounds. Dirty lyrics and hard-hitting beats shows yet again how varied the Juke/Footwork sound can be. 

Jonny Megabyte (who has previously released via Juke Bounce Werk and Juke Trax) has arrived at Good Street. The 4/4 sound of Juke and off-kilter percussion of Footwork, combined with a heavy bass and laid-back melodies. 

Six Foe is a Detroit Ghettotech legend - collabing with DJ Godfather and Mr De' back in the early 2000s, and releasing via Databass. His distinction vocal talent brings an engaging, human feel to the tracks.

2013 brings new releases from Good Street Records. This one, from Surinamese producer http://soundcloud.com/j-ay-a-d, shows the evolution of the Footwork sound. Moving away from, but still paying homage to, the Chicago innovators, The Ghetto EP shows off an emerging Footwork/Juke producer, while gives a hint of where the footwork genre is moving to. 

Produced while J(ay).A.D lived in the slums of Paramaribo, Suriname, each track tells a story of people that he knew. Either to dance to, nod your head to or meditate to, this is the sound of 2013.
