For his next Token EP, Kr!z delivers squelchy synth sequences over robust kicks, reinforcing his no - nonsense approach to club music. Classic in its conception yet psychotic in effect, Ipso Facto is a record built for powerful sound systems during the night’s most delirious moments.

First impressions are important; the Belgian producer has never been one to waste time, and this record is no exception. What you hear is what you get — an anxiously slithering synth line makes his intentions clear in De feat the Purpose, driving people to the dancefloor. Dry drum machine work thunders throughout, locking in the Token style with precision. Moving into the next track, ‘Chrome Dust’ focuses more on the tonal side of things and its irresistible groove makes i t an instant ear catcher. Playful rides and snares shape the progression, with Kr!z swapping percussion elements to keep the movement lively. 

The title track is a true hip swinger on the B1 as he reaches in the low end of the synth sequence to establish a very compelling rhythm. Everything in its right place, and not a hair more, the percussion transitions are reminiscent of his 4 channel DJ sets, the energy always being on the move. Equilibrium closes the EP with high energy, opening up filters over a reli ably bouncy rhythm. Years of experience behind the decks can be very instructive for a perceptive producer, and Kr!z proves us just that in this track and in the whole EP.

Thoughts. is the sublabel of Illegal Alien, and it contains four tracks that feature label boss Ricardo Garduno alongside Alexi Delano, Anders Enge, and Jessse in a quality collaboration pack. Previously, Vinicius Honorio, Developer, and Alexander Kowalski are among the many prominent artists who have appeared on the imprint.

Alexi Delano is a longstanding DJ and producer born in Chile who has also lived in the United States and Sweden, and has been releasing music for nearly three decades. Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 and M_nus, Cari Lekebusch's H-Productions, Dubfire's SCI+TEC, and Hans Bouffmyhre's Sleaze to Visionquest are among his back catalogue signifying his expertise.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Lunar Illusion" that is trippy and stomping cut. Raw and powerful, the menacing, throbbing textures are met with stuttering low-end kicks and shimmers of synth tones like piercing light through a dark and smokey ambience.

Through relentless energy, deep textures, and hypnotic grooves, the album embodies the essence of club culture: a place where we reconnect with ourselves and each other.

Slam make no mistake when it comes to the sonic tone of the album as it opens with the tribalistic Use It, Lose It before the discordant sounds of title track Dark Channel hints at the relentless nature of things to come. The intensity continues with Parametric Factor & Glide - both pushing a pulsating, synth driven trip; the later leading on a more traditional Slam percussive workout. The dance floor warping Morganatic pursues dark territory while Infinit Spaces adds trippy FX to an already animated synth hook. The beautifully crafted Kuture Version delves into a more immersive sound as more direct, chord driven elements take the lead. The pace quickens yet again with Ghost Dancer highlighting sub tones whilst still crafting ominous intonations with its modulating FX. Approaching the conclusion, the ferocious Beat On The Drum delivers a lesson in rhythm and energy before the contorted Irregular Object completes proceedings in a suitably hypnotic fashion.

Every track within Lakej’s monumental EP for Gordo Trax presents itself as a form of living colony, with sounds merging together like an organism cluster, gaining life in unimaginable, borderline terrifying ways, larger than the sum of their parts

Contemptor, with its intricate buzzing, generates swarm patterns around a comb-like grid, every stinger pointed towards you and ready to discharge at the sight of foul movement.

Much like modular organisms, these pieces have indeterminate growth forms, and seem to be ever changing, agile. In the shape of hands being patent demonstrations of this constantly mutating dynamic, that culminates in the fractal constructions of Process Formula and the ever potent, venom-fanged Stand Off

The eusociality of this colony presents in the form of its two remixes, with SCHRZØ remix resemblant of protist organisms, with a charging beat covered in slime-like foley, and Finalversion3’s take buzzing around like a bat nesting cave, both filled with an ominous aura and rich with alien life.
