We Are The Brave celebrate their 88th release with a stunning four track EP from Montpelier based producer Paul Roux.

Creating a stunning fusion of live instrumentation and electronic craftsmanship, Roux uses analogue textures and industrial percussion to create cinematic soundscapes with driving energy.

"Emperia" brings the energy with rave inspired synths and a computerised vocal that together create a dystopian vibe driven by a pounding kick drum. "Loveland" has a fast-paced groove and explosive percussion that combine with poignant synth chords for an epic ending.

"Cosmic Blues" and "Craft Control" are best described as sunset techno due to their combination of melancholic atmosphere underpinned by rolling percussion to create a compelling dance floor experience.

The ODD / EVEN (@ODD-EVEN-1) label project from Germany is headed up by established producer @Andre-Kronert and with only a small amount of releases under its belt, has already featured artists like Jonas Kopp, Pfirter, NX1, Jeroen Search, Dimi Angelis amongst others.

Their sixth offering called By Night EP is the newest package from production juggernaut @Johannes-Heil-Official from Frankfurt, who is known for releases spanning the likes of Heiko Laux’s Kanzleramt, Sven Väth’s Cocoon and Len Faki’s Figure.

For this DT:Premiere we selected track two simply named “By Night Part Two” that wastes no time by launching into a tough and driving rhythm. The pressure builds from delayed waves as they open up with intensity and become the main focus under the jackin’ beat. A fine DJ tool is created that is full of energy and hypnotic bliss in the right hands.

Returning victorious to M-Plant after the Floorplan album and EP takeover, Robert Hood, whose work under his own name has continued to garner equal support with the ‘Paradygm Shift’ series for Dekmantel, brings the heat with this triple-tracker in May.

The original minimal techno master wastes no time with opener ‘Clocks’. There’s a sense of urgency as the track builds, looping into its crescendo with waves of staccato hi-hats. Tick tock, tick tock.

Over on the flipside there’s a familiarity in the opening chords of ‘Low Life’ that will resonate with fans of Hood’s work. Instantly recognisable, it’s stamped with his ability to bring funk and groove to the colder stomp of techno.

Final opus, ‘Go’ brings a spiralling samba tempo to the dancefloor. The punchy drumbeat is interwoven with sweeping cymbals for a highly effective infectiousness, like a call to arms, or better still, the Brazilian call to carnival.
