His album 'Love that will not die' was out earlier this year on his own Roar Groove label and you can catch him playing live at Fabric on Saturday 4th July. He had this to say about his mix;
“I made this mix on an uncharacteristically sunny day in Glasgow with the smokey waft of barbecue in the air (or maybe it’s a chip pan fire). Given these balmy conditions, I figured a summertime slo-mo mix was in order. I mixed this at home on my usual set up - E&S mixer with a Moog Delay pedal and a couple of CDJs. I edit a lot of what I play for my sets so all of these have been plucked or pumped in someway. Right … I’m off to make a michelada.”

++ How and where was the mix recorded? ++
It was recorded at my studio using other people's music.

++ What was the idea behind the mix? ++
The idea was to have bass orientated theme but with a melodic flow.

++ How (if in any way) is the mix influenced by Cuba? ++
Most of the melodies I picked I feel have a latin flavour to them.

++ What excites you most about the journey to Santiago? ++
I'm looking forward to going somewhere on the planet that is not American influenced. I grew up listening to Mongo Santamaria. Cuba is just across the way from where my parents come from: Jamaica. I think there are deep ties throughout the Caribbean. I'm sorry I'm not a religious person but I'm into deeper feelings. I'm going there to taste the spirit. The musicians I've heard are unbelievably talented and I believe I have something to share.

Yes, I'm bringing all my music, ready to jam.

A steady stream of incoming artists, promoters and fans have boosted its scene to heights many would have thought unachievable only ten years ago. So we were keen to chat to someone in the thick of this progress to get their take on it.
