Milano-based producer Eluard graces Slow Motion Records once again with his debut album ‘Dirty Hall’. A release filled with his distinctively nostalgic tone, blending West Coast synth funk and Italo Disco with appropriate, seamless grit.

‘Dirty Hall’ opens with ‘Die Erste Musik’,  a chiming track with a wide, captivating vocal sampler riff that delicately dances off fizzing percussion. Creamy, glistening chords sit beautifully within this arrangement effortlessly complementing the bassline. This approach is taken a step further in the following ‘Carlo E Daria’, with an instantly attention-grabbing swirling synth motif.

‘Dirty Hall’ shows the breadth of Eluard's innate talent for harnessing the best out of the analogue machine, creating a rich sonic palette that never fails to warm the ears. The thundering lows of ‘Comic Bad’ are met with a mind-bending augmented synth line and a beautifully enigmatic vocal riff.

Eluard’s sound design throughout this LP masterfully pushes the retro into the present realm, retaining the characterful intrigue of the instruments recorded. Intelligently placed harmonies in ‘Dancers Are Thin And Pretty’ and ‘Funny Jasmine’ help to raise the instrumental sequences, allowing the listener to be transported to a more reflective, existential space.

The slick flare of elegant floor filler ‘Phonemes’ solidifies Eluard as a visionary within the Italian Dance Wave Movement, layering distinguished instrumentals with perfectly placed melodics.

‘Dirty Hall’ eloquently concludes with the sophisticated sleaze of ‘In The Next Room’. A masterful nod to the golden era of the vocoder with a stomping, percussive groove and a cleansing chordal sequence. ‘Dirty Hall’ is an LP charged with a mind-bending evocation instilling Eluard as a forward-thinking force within the sonic sphere.

From Barcelona, Fernanda Arrau is back, presenting her latest EP 'Sexy Dance.' The talented Chilean DJ and producer made her debut on the label with "Calypso" in 'Muy Divas Vol 1', and now she immerses us in a world of shimmering sounds and hypnotic rhythms.

The EP, consisting of three cuts: two of them original versions and a masterful edit by Bawrut.

The EP kicks off with "Sexy Dance," a track that's fresh, fun, and simultaneously seductive. With a playful bassline, echoing vocals, an enjoyable cowbell, and a solid drumbeat, this 6-and-a-half-minute song leads listeners into a state of hypnotic dancing.

Moving on, we encounter "Simple," a track that dazzles with its depth and sparkle. The combination of the drums and the enveloping bass keeps your feet grounded, while the pure pads guide listeners on a delicate and enchanting journey.

The perfect conclusion to the EP comes from the hands of the renowned producer Bawrut, who delivers an enigmatic edit of "Jenny Lind." This hypnotic cut captivates you from the very beginning with its magnetic bassline and precise drumbeat that builds an irresistible atmosphere.
The initial sounds repeat like a mantra throughout the track, while other elements join in a cyclical voyage.

For 5 years I’ve been using the names of politicians to create pieces of music. This formula has enabled me to create characters and give a fun visual identity to each song. I have been very lucky to work with the talented Olivier Laude in developing these graphics for my artwork and the animated visuals I use on stage.

It has been an honour to work alongside INA (The French National Audiovisual Institute) – who allowed me to dig deep into the French archives and create video pieces to go with my last album ‘Republique Electronique’. The pairing of retro footage from Paris in the 1960s – remixed alongside my music has worked really well at my shows!

For months now, I have been working on new productions, but I wanted to end this politician cycle in style with two songs….. the final bouquet

On the menu: ‘Copé’, who disappeared suddenly from circulation after publicly mistaking the price of a ‘pain au chocolat’!!

‘Bayrou’, another politician – who thought he finally came to power with Macron, but had to leave the government barely after entering it, indicted for embezzlement of public funds!

To accompany them, a completely crazy video, a first dive into live animation from the genius graphic designer Olivier Laude, animated by his friend Ulysse Lefort. They worked hours of labor, homemade with a burst of colours, humour, and a lot of love. A mix of French comics, American cinema, and Japanese manga.

In this new EP titled Double Trouble, there is also a string of remixes from legendary producers and the cream of current clubbing DJs

Kicking 2024 off with an incredible edit on our 'X-PRESSINGS’ edit series by London-based sonic duo Beyond The Struttosphere. They're currently dominating, showcasing their considerable musical production expertise and unwavering passion for cosmic, chugging dark disco.

Their debut EP released on Gouranga Music found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, also appearing on Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series.
Propelled to newfound heights, the cosmic duo have since released a number of highly lauded EPs, remixes and edits on esteemed labels and now of-course on our ‘X-PRESSINGS’ edit series.

Beyond The Struttosphere’s music has made sonic reverberations around the globe and has been remixed by notable legends of the scene including; Rebolledo, Rigopolar, Vongold, Badknife and Mufti to name a few. The cosmic cowboys have been deep in the studio recently, working on new material, with live guitar now a mainstay of their productions. Their trademark sound combines resonant chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, syncopated arpeggiators, 80s-inspired synths, vintage vocal samples, Italo drum fills and psychedelic 303 sequences.

Dombrance has been described by The Sunday Times as "a French Jarvis Cocker with a bushy moustache and flares." He is a musical maverick who last year released his debut full-length album and performed relentlessly across the globe from Glastonbury Festival to Downtown Los Angeles, a set before Underworld at Tropico Festival in Mexico and many more. First to remix is the legendary François K, who flips 'Copé' into a psychedelic wonder that navigates in different directions and through several genres that will make dancers lose their minds. Scandi-disco king Lindstrøm then comes through with an exotic remix of ‘Bayrou' that makes you imagine a cocktail pool party filmed by David Lynch. Venerated veterans Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi are the perfect artists to serve up a tribute to Italo-disco with their brilliant take on ‘Bayrou’, and Rigopolar shows he is a master magician of minimal disco with his seductive remix of 'Cope'. Freudenthal, a former member of the Pardon Moi group, cooks up two remixes of ‘Copé’ stuffed with cortisone and muscular beats and DiskJokke, a talented Norwegian space disco pioneer, brings serious old school rave to his version of 'Cope.' Last of all, Josh Ludlow's remix of the same tune has a super nostalgic and bright 80's drum machine feel.

Arthur's Landing is an ongoing project led by singer/guitarist Steven Hall. The morphing line-up explores Arthur Russell's Buddhist songs through performance and recording with a view to maintaining key elements like childish improvisation and groove. The latest incarnation features Paddy Boom (drums) and Carlitos Hernandez (bass/gtr) with vocals by Steven Hall/Andrea Hall/Marcus Huffman/Soliterre.

He was sitting in a train car and having nothing to do, counted drops of water flowing down the window due to heavy rain raging outside for the second day. The train raced through all these steppes and there was nothing outside except a wall of water and a crazy wind - he felt lonely and then he remembered how he was traveling, also on the train with his parents when he was ten and he liked that trip so much because of a sense of comfort on a journey that he constantly asked his parents when they would go on a train journey again. All this feeling of loneliness instantly disappeared and he thought how easy it is, when you can maintain your good moral state in the future by your actions now.
Multi active London / New York Gouranga blog bring us first instalment as a record label, and called for that a London based Dj/Producer Algy Strutt who was already seen in Paper Recordings, Moscow Records and Loop de Loop Records.
"Future Flashbacks" as a single have seen the light about a year ago on Paper Recordings and now Gouranga clan have decided to release it if few remixes again.

Future Flashbacks is an escalating slab of dark cosmic slo-mo disco that draws inspiration from pantheon of sources, including The Unknown Cases' Masimbabele, Lindstrom, Diskjokke, Billy Idol and Andrew Weatherall's A Love From Outer Space series. Driven power chords, rolling multi-layered bass lines, trippy vocal samples, 80s-tinged guitar licks and a healthy dose of acid power this chugger through to an arpeggiated breakdown that builds to a cosmic crescendo that drops to bring all the elements back together.

Gouranga have managed to put together this EP with some seriously killer remixes. I've been a fan of James Rod and Rune Lindbaek's studio work for many years and I'm thrilled that these class acts have worked their cosmic magic with such great results! It's also great to hear the Gouranga Clan's take on Future Flashbacks – badass!

Production notes: This was a project that started life several years ago as an experiment when making the transition from Logic to Ableton. It was shelved for a few years while I worked on other projects and was resurrected when I found out I was due to become a father in a few months' time, so I wanted to get one last tune finished, and Flashbacks provided the perfect base. I upgraded many of the original synth and bass parts with newly acquired analogue synthesisers, recorded the guitar parts and beefed up the acid. Some of the original percussion parts remain, though have been twisted out of all recognition by running them through a series of distortion units, analogue delays and various other pieces of outboard gear. The breakdown originally consisted of a blues-rock style organ riff, which was pared back to more of a pad, but didn't sit well with the new sound the track had acquired, so it was replaced by a whirling italo-cosmic arpeggiator part played on a Sequential Circuits Prophet 6 that was immensely fun to record live.
