Sending you something special for the weekend from Disco Freaks Recordings, a partnership between Chris Davies (Disco Freaks/Acid Jazz Records/ Defected Records) and Swedish singer Julia Axnér. Here they present their brand of 70’s inspired disco grooves with a distinctive modern touch.

New release ‘Shout From The Rooftop' sees AXNÉR collaborate with two members of Nile Rodgers & Chic original outfit - drummer Ralph Rolle and singer Audrey Martells.

AXNER's latest cut 'Shout From The Rooftop' is as glossy and golden as disco gets! It's soaring vocal and funky basslines benefit from some high-grade remix treatments via a starry host of talent.

New York City music royalty and original Studio 54 DJ John Morales hands in both a ‘M+M Club’ and a ‘Main mix’, plus an atmospheric ‘Instrumental’ for those who prefer to leave the vocals on the side. Morales add layers of lovely keys and increases the goosebump factor with soaring chords and a funk fuelled guitar addition. The resulting versions are brimming with glorious instrumentation and nonstop grooves.

For release number 15 on the Conspiracy imprint, label heads Elijah and Nate deliver their debut EP together after a string of singles spanning 3 years. Electrode is the final product of many late nights, in and out of the studio, and a collection of experiences transposed into musical form.
Joining us for the remixes on this very special release are two of Europes most in demand, both making their first appearance on the label. Ben Balance, Sukhumvit top dog and member of Mannheim's Be9 crew, flips the title track Electrode whilst You&Me label boss Josh Baker stamps his authority with a fresh outlook on Provocation.

Oozing character, the title track from Nate and Elijah is an electro inspired house heater. The pinnacle of their sets for the best part of 2019, Electrode has left a trail of destruction wherever it has landed. Four to the floor rhythm and a growling bass from the word go, ravey stabs and sweeping pads evolve throughout the mix breathing life into this high energy offering from the boys.
