For nine exceptional years after first emerging in 1998, UK electronic artist Paul Davis was a true underground pioneer. He released 45 cult EPs as Circulation with former partner Matt Jackson and headlined clubs like fabric and major festivals around the world. This spring, after falling back in love with music during the pandemic, he returned to the scene with a pair of new EPs. Each one showed he has noticeably matured from his early days but can still nail a sweet dance floor groove. This EP opens up with 'Algodonles Blue Sky,' an exquisite 12-minute dub techno opus. Constantly bubbling bass and elastic grooves trap you in the moment, and a world of sound effects, rich cosmic designs and heady motifs all detail the groove in subtle but subversive fashion. There is more air and light in the playful 'Diskotec,' with its rich harmonica patterns, churning drums and uplifting melodies. It's a track to swell the heart and raise the spirits before the excellent closer 'Chord.' This one rolls deep on a cuddly and dubby house groove. Melancholic pads leave long tails in their wake, and soft shakers and hymnal chords add to the meditative effects. Thoughtful and dynamic, this is another timeless EP from Circulation.

Playground Records is psyched to present the very first release from Vilnius based producer Monk Ernie, ‘Invisible Pink’. A six hook-filled jams that will take you to the depths of Baltic Post Funk.
The original tracks are as catchy as they are groovy, incorporating influences from all around the world. Psychedelic party music, safari disco madness, fake ritual gurus, driven rubbery bass lines and weird tones. A solid pack with a high quality organic instrumentation to rock the dancefloor. Mid tempo electronic funk from outer space, all 100% playable.
On the remix side, Tel Aviv producer Uriah Klapter delivers a reinterpretation of ‘Invisible Pink’ perfect to be played on a beach at dawn; and Lassi International boss, the Argentinian SidiRum, does his magic on ‘The Lamp’.

This release is individually 300 hand-numbered limited edition. The first 100 copies are pressed on PURPLE vinyl (AR023).
Parma-based singer and songwriter Loreni’s released her synth-pop version in 2020 and here the always charming Mushrooms Project are joined by Deep88 to provide four subterranean reworks. Translated as ‘snow in May’, the song alludes to the confusing and unexpected times through which the world is currently living, and Loreni’s bittersweet vocals offer ample inspiration for the chosen remixers to work their respective magic here. Fellow Parma residents Marco and Girogio unite under their Mushrooms Project banner with three distinct interpretations.
The duo’s work is always immaculately formed, and here they open proceedings with their ‘Disco Maxi Single’ version, where throbbing synth bass and atmospheric waves are joined by crisp machine drums for a pulsating club workout. Their ‘Balearic’ mix finds them in familiar territory as they join Leo Almunia to compose a blissful soundtrack to immersive ocean-side reflections. As the name suggests, their ‘Rave’ version is designed for dubbed out dancefloors, with bass-heavy rhythm and wigged-out effects periodically lifted by dreamy chords and distantly gliding vocals. Finally, Alessandro ‘Deep88’ Pasini arrives with his authentic dream house version, with emotive pads caressing Loreni’s reverb-soaked vocals over a chugging four/four rhythm.

@itsYarni ’s ‘Entkommen’ was a well-received debut album on @nightnoisemusic last year, and now comes the first of two Eps of remixes.  The 1st part released in June featuring AWITW, ATDHE, Harmonious, Lauer, Tales of Voodoo and IPG V Yarni.

Night Noise regular AWITW opens things up and channels his Balearic senses on ‘Agitator’ creating a CFCF like vibe. It’s awash with rippling synths and beach-y grooves to carry you away.

Night Noise newcomer @TalesOfVoodoo take ‘Goin Live in Rabat’, strip it back and turn it into a percussion heavy, Sergio Mendes styled slice of Latin tinged dance floor action. 

All six remixes offering something different but equally essential for the dance floor and mark another top notch release from Night Noise.
