The train chugged its way up the steep, unforgiving grade, its laborious struggle against gravity reminiscent of a man carrying the weight of his past. The sun hung low on the horizon, casting long shadows that stretched across the tracks like ghosts of forgotten moments.

As the locomotive strained against the incline, the rhythm of its laborious ascent echoed the beating of a wounded heart. Each plume of steam that billowed from its stack seemed to carry with it the sighs of weary travelers, seeking to escape the troubles that clung to them like the dust on their coats.

Inside the train's dimly lit cars, passengers sat in silence, their faces etched with the weariness of the journey. They stared out of the windows at the world passing by, a world that seemed to slip further and further away with each laborious revolution of the wheels. The clinking of glasses in the bar car and the occasional whisper of a child in a distant compartment were the only sounds that broke the heavy shroud of melancholy.

The view from the windows offered little solace. The landscape, once lush and green, had turned barren and desolate as the train climbed higher into the mountains. The trees, stripped of their leaves, stood like silent sentinels, their branches reaching out to the sky in a desperate plea for mercy. The air grew colder, and the sun's feeble warmth offered no respite from the chill that had settled into the passengers' bones.

As the train continued its relentless ascent, the weight of its struggle mirrored the burdens of those on board. It was a journey that seemed to have no end, a battle against the forces of nature and the trials of life. And though the passengers had boarded with the hope of finding a brighter horizon, they now found themselves locked in a melancholic embrace with the relentless climb of the train, each click of the tracks marking a moment lost in time.

In the fading light of day, as the train pushed forward, the world outside seemed to fade into a blur of shadows and memories. The chugging of the locomotive became a mournful dirge, a reminder that sometimes, no matter how hard we try, the uphill battle is a journey we must make alone.

Still very much Dark Disco,New wave, techno and EBM infused, but slightly uptempo .Many of them played at our friends gathering at Stavelot in the Belgian Ardennes recently. Et une nouvelle année pour le Foutoir Moderne... On est en cours de saison mais pour pour ce numéro 133 (et 2024) on attaque avec un producteur qui a su se (re)faire un nom en très peu de temps, c'est @Neurotiker ! Marcelo (de son vrai prénom), est un producteur brésilien basé à Rio de Janeiro et qui bien ayant déjà réalisé un EP en 2013 sur le label anglais, Borg recordings, s'est fait (re)connaître récemment avec son fantastique EP "Dream Machine" sur le label toulousain qu'on aime, @ritmofatale. S'en suivit un florilège de productions, singles, remixes et donc notamment "Dystopian Romance" sur @polarirecords (le label de @Cormac) et "Arcadia" sur @nubiansofplutoniarecords, "Art Repeats Itself" sur Weirdos Records  (le label de @malaikamalaika) en 2022 puis "The Showstoppers" sur @revodisc en 2023.
Son univers se situe dans un mix de disco, d'italo-disco, new beats, wave, ebm et d'électro avec un esprit toujours (retro)futuriste.

Recording this mix was really satisfying, using tracks and remixes from artists friends of the Electronic / Dark Disco scene, while I was trying to carefully select the various tracks in headphones with my eyes closed I let myself be carried away by the imagination of wandering in a dystopian world thinking of being a replicant like in Blade Runner.

Gowax started djing when 16 years old and has a history of gigs in youth clubs , student parties clubs ,underground techno and psytrance scene in Belgium , being part of the first wave of Goa trance DJ's in Belgium around 1996 and resident DJ at the legendary Dance-A delic parties and many others from 1998 until 2005. During this time he co-produced around 10 psy trance tracks of which 5 were released on various trance labels
Since quite a while Gowax has been deep into Dark electronics , going from Dark Disco , EBM , techno to new wave infused tracks and everything that fits the bill. Aside from the dance scene Gowax also has a history of organizing eclectic rock festivals ( Puke festival) and gigs in the nineties with a solid love for underground rock and metal. Favourite bands from those days are Helmet , Urban dance Squad , KONG and many more . The rock riffs are therefore quite present in his Dark Electronics set in the mix together with his love for new wave, new beat/EBM and detuned spheric techno tracks. 

Together with Yo-el Gowax also performs as a DJ duo Waves Inbetween
As Waves Inbetween, they serve an audacious cocktail of Dark Disco, New Wave, New Beat, EBM, Post Punk, Cold Wave - Dark electronics and guaranteed some special stuff too, to surprise you…and each other ;-) – nothing is fitting in any box here, hence the name - “Waves Inbetween”.
