The Electric Kool-Aid Festival Tour

Here is the introduction to our time at North Country Fair and indeed the intro to our summer time festival tour we are embarking on with The Dream Zine.  Here we give our initial impressions of the festival and what we would like to see during the festival and the tour itself.  

North Country Fair was an absolute blast, and we had a great time covering the festival.  Look out for interviews with K-Riz, Scenic Route to Alaska, The Party on High Street, Patrick Ennis and more!

The Electric Kool Aid Festival Tour - Intro

K-Riz, Oozeela and the band stopped by The Dream Zine and GRadio.ca booth at North Country Fair to talk about their set and their time at the festival.  There were a lot of people around the mics, and a lot of music in the background, but it was a great chat with one of our favourite performances of the weekend.  We talked about their set, the festival and what's in store in the coming months.  We also chat briefly with Jonathan of Klusterfunk who plays saxophone with K-Riz to get an update about one of our favourite local bands.

North Country Fair - Interview with K-Riz

Trevor, Murray and Shea from Scenic Route to Alaska stopped by the GRadio.ca booth at North Country Fair in between their two performances at the festival to talk about the festival and what's been happening with one of Edmonton's most happening bands.

Scenic Route to Alaska is one of our favourite local bands and they talked a lot about their love for Edmonton and it's thriving local music scene.  They spoke about some of their favourite venues in the city, where they played when they were coming up and what life is like on the road.

The Edmonton-born J-Reds sits down to talk to Chandon Autumn after his performance at Curiosity Music Festival.  J-Reds is a local rapper, emcee and producer who performs extensively at electronic music festivals around Western Canada. Curiosity Music Festival - Intro

Rumpus sat down with Chandon Autumn after his set at Astral Harvest to talk about how he met Small Town DJ's while surfing, his inspirations and gives advice on how to get into performing at summertime music festivals.

Rumpus, by definition, does in fact bring the noise – and the bodies – to dance floors and music festivals around the globe. Drumming since the age of 12 and growing up playing in punk rock bands, Rumpus has since evolved into a full-time touring DJ/Drummer and producer of high vibe, funky house music.

Rumpus’ live drumming blended with a finely tuned DJ palette, serves up an irresistible feast for attuned music lovers and funky festival freaks alike. His visually captivating high-energy live show fuses his signature house sound with elements of other genres such as hip hop and experimental future bass. With releases on Westwood Recordings & Australia’s ‘Sweat it Out’ Club Sweat label, the Rumpus sound has been described as “what you get if funk house and bass house had a kid”. 2019 is on course to be another major year with lots of new music, a packed tour schedule, and a few other surprises up his sleeve.

Astral Harvest - Neon Steve Interview

Queen C and Kahtja of Goddessa Entertainment join us for an interview about heir burlesque project that was performed on Saturday night at Astral Harvest 2019.

Goddessa is a collective of singers, dancers, and healers harmonized by the calling of our hearts in the divine alignment of powerhouse female performers intent on breaking the mould. The Womp - JoiKill Interview

Frank and Adriana of Monkey Twerk, and founders of The Womp Music Festival sat down with Chandon Autumn of The Dream Zine on the dancefloor of the main stage, Monday morning at the festival.  Frank and Adriana, originally from Colombia, came to Canada and began pursuing a music career and have since attained international success that has seen the couple move to Amsterdam to further their music careers. The Womp - Monkey Twerk Interview

GRadio.ca is an all-local and independent online radio station broadcasting in Edmonton, Alberta.
