Going deeper into the artist:

Gonzalo Fontan (aka 'Fontango') started as a DJ in 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He became an electronic music lover, making great sunset of House and Deep Tech sessions winning a residency at La Mala disco till he went to Barcelona in 2019.

Once in the city at 24 years old, he started to work on his technique looking to earn a place in the music scene of the city. In 2020, during quarantine, he kept studying and practicing to get ready for the action, learning different genres in order to transmit his frenetic and danceable style adapted to the correct moment and place.

This year he made an important popularity increase after winning a place playing frequently in known local bars such as Mint Bar, The Coconut Club and Sotano Corp. Also he won a mix competition for Jackies Parties and as a result he ended up playing at Pacha Barcelona in July. In addition to this, he started his own parties known as Mela Suda that received important DJs on each edition winning a place on Barcelona`s electronic music scene.

He brought to us a one hour of housy and groovie vibes, a mix between organic sounds, groove and enjoyable smoothie melodies and percussion, a real nice trip to listen to...

Graff Series #41 - FONTANGO

Argentinian DJ and electronic music producer from Buenos Aires, currently based in Barcelona.

Viccenzo was born in Carlos Casares, a small town where electronic music was definitely not in everybody’s ears... However, he has always followed his instinct and passion for the electronic rhythm beat. In every gathering or in any place, Viccenzo encouraged his friends and almost all people around him to listen and appreciate electronic music despite their apparent dislike for it.  

At the age of 17, he moved to Buenos Aires, where he started playing at well-known nightclubs and, a few years later, he immersed himself into the electronic music production world.  In 2017, he moved to Barcelona, to pursue his dream: "to live through the art of djing and creating music". In this city, he enrolled in the Advanced Electronic Music programme at SAE institute, where he acquired new techniques and improved his skills.

His influences are Kraftwerk & Deep Dish. The music genre he identifies with is Minimal/Tech - House Music and the distinctive elements present in his music are groovy and dynamic drums patterns, acid and tough synths with powerful bass-lines.

He released tracks under labels such as: Rawthentic, Sibila Music and others. Also, he shared DJ booth with Louie Vega for Amsterdam Dance Event on a boat party, Sam Divine and Spencer Parker, at La Terrraza nightclub. He also played in well-known nightclubs like City Hall, Go Beach Club, Pacha Barcelona, Macarena among others.

He is also the founder and owner of @graffcycle , which is an electronic music community that aims to share original music by emerging artists of the underground scene, to express themselves with totally freedom. He wants to take it to the next level, being a record label!.

Fontango, also known as Gonzalo Fontan, is a DJ from Argentina that has grown exponentially in the last 5 years since he moved to Barcelona. Born in Buenos Aires, he started playing in 2016 at private parties earning a place as resident in La Mala Club till he moved to Europe in 2019.
 
After professionalizing his technique studying at Plastic Academy in Barcelona in 2020, he hadn't stopped playing in more and more places of the city building a popularity due to his meticulous music selection and the expressive sets that go “all over the map”.
 
Lover of dance music but mainly House, he can take you around many different genres. During the day he likes to play Disco and Tropical House, while in the night he gets deeper reaching Techno and Deep Tech sounds. 
 
On the last 2 years, he plays in different clubs and venues of the city as: Macarena, Pacha Barcelona, Bus Terraza, Poble Español, M7, Mint Bar, Recreo, Slow Club, City Hall, Garage 442, Buena Onda Social Club and many more parties. 
 
He is also very known for creating his own venues (Mela Suda) and also ran Sonus Nox parties in collaboration with Out Recs and Sunet Curat.
 
Nowadays, Fontango is studying music production at Garage Bass Valley and working full-time for music jobs as DJ or event manager, showing his passion and commitment to express himself by sharing music and creating artistic events to the music lover culture.
