In Hour 2 we hand over to Locked Groove who recently released on Kompakt’s Speicher series and did a remix for Sebastian Voigt on Outcast Oddity. Since his debut on Scuba’s Hotflush label in 2012, he's also released on Life and Death, Permanent Vacation, Afterlife and his eponymous label Locked Groove records. He'll be playing at ADE for DGTL & Kompakt on 21st October and he had this to say about his mix;
"I made this mix in 2 parts because I wanted to play something else than just the stuff I´d play in a club environment. Every track feels like something from outer space to me and thats also the generally idea and theme of the the mix. Tracks that are from the future or from outer space. In the first Part it´s mostly new tracks and a few unreleased bits by myself. I´ll let you find out where they are. The second part is old and new stuff. Some tracks are personal favorites for years, some are becoming favorites. I hope you enjoy it "

Solid Steel Radio Show 13/10/2017 Hour 2 - Locked Groove

We waited so long for this massive exhibition. Gonzalo Oleaga is @gullenmusic from Barcelona, Spain. He comes along with an astonishing beautiful solo exhibition at the Wohlklang Gallery. He's one of the upcoming artists you should have on your list!
Gonzalo played in some of the best Clubs in the World, like Garage442 and Razzmatazz.

Gullen has developed an increasingly distinct sound, leaning towards lazier rhythms and opened envelope synthesis. His productions capture a joy, haze and lethargy which feel akin to the atmosphere when walking the streets under a blazing June sun.

With his latest Faraday EP released this year on Gabriel Ananda's Soulful Techno, Gullen will be releasing lots of new music during the first half of 2019, including the three unreleased tracks in this mix. He's currently a DJ resident at Barcelona's finest Radio C/C and is also been working for years on his side-project @shitjapens with also a new Crispy EP coming out during the beginning of next year.

Having dabbled with DJing during her 20s, Alice Palace took a break for well over a decade, favouring the dance floor over the DJ booth. She only seriously reconnected with DJing in the last year during the enforced lockdown after doing a show for a friend on EH-FM. A residency soon followed on Cowbell Radio, along with shows on Isolation Station, Graffiti Kings Radio, and Rising Edge Radio, with occasional sets for various live-streaming platforms in London, Edinburgh, and her new hometown of Berlin. 

  Her usual style is downtempo chugging dance music, often with a nod to the '80s and a large dose of sleaze. But here she has stepped up the pace a little, opening with some dark and moody basslines leading into a more uplifting dance-inducing second half.  

“I find it hard to define my style of music, it definitely doesn't fit easily into one or two genres. My earliest influences came from Lindstrom & Prins Thomas's style of spacey disco and they are still very present in what I play now, but I also really enjoy slow pitched down music that you can’t necessarily dance to but which provides a different type of escapism. Hence why my Mixcloud has a wide variety of sets playing many different types of music. It's a way to channel and express my emotions… and emotions change from day to day, week to week. I guess the best way to describe what I play is anything that either moves me emotionally or makes me want to move my feet. That's probably the best and most simple way to put it!”, she said.
