Small actions capable of generating big changes. This idea taken from physics and the "idea of chaos" can also be applied to the field of psychology that a sound or a frequency can influence our minds.

All of us, in some way, are constantly flapping our invisible wings to imitate the effect. Let's think about it for a moment as we carefully listen to the album. Sometimes, a small change in a frequency can lead to a formidable change in our mind and way of seeing the world. in turn, it can also shape a change of mentality that flows towards progress or a positive advance.

The main model of chaos theory proposes that if we imagine two identical worlds, where the only thing that differentiates them is the occurrence of an almost insignificant variable, over time this small difference can cause both worlds to become more and more different. and more. Until it is practically impossible to determine that they were once the same.

This album brings together more than 20 Colombian born artists in order to revolutionize a movement that is in constant development from a small big action such as the contribution of a completely narrative and enveloping track.

Northallsen Records is an electronic music label founded in Bogotá, Colombia in 2016 by Aleja Sanchez.

The label's sound embraces the realms of hypnotism and explores the fusion between organic soundscapes, experimental and acoustic elements, with the powerful load of techno music, revealing a sonic narrative that flows between the mysticism of ancestral cultures and the spiritual power of nature.

In order to build the concept, far away from trying to emulate a sound, the label curation is focused on artists with their own identity and particular voice, with a foundation into their musical and artistic proposals. Recent releases have featured the likes of Oscar Mulero, Deepbass, Reggy van Oers, Magna Pia, Polygonia, Tekra, !nertia, Psyk, Laertes, Iori and founder Aleja Sanchez.

The label is intended to keep and highlight the deepness and beauty of techno and electronic music since Northallsen considers music as a tool to help bring harmony and peace in the middle of the tragic war-related situation we all are facing currently around the world.

Individuo Atemporal is a multidisciplinary project of music, art and expression led by David Ricardo, from Medellín (Colombia).

Inspired by constant experimentation through sound and in its main reading of life, expressing everything, through the soul, from the digital language of music and electronic arts, in search of avant-garde sounds and expressions, but without closing to the modern and abstract.

Since mid-2023 this project was born, the focus is aimed at immersion in the production and composition of electronic music, through tonal manipulation, exploring the variability of generating conversations through sounds. The sound expression of Individuo Atemporal goes from experimental techno to the minimalist area, through the deep and hypnotic. In addition, he is not closed to including influences from genres such as Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Jazz etc... In addition, his daily life is what leads him to the realization of all his artistic projects.

At what point does a new tool or technology become so integral to a process as to be intrinsic? And what happens if that technology starts to subordinate its user?

By reflecting on these questions Machine Alliance, the new EP by Irish producer Kerrie on Tresor Records, connects her music to the sci-fi origins of techno and electronic music in general.

With inspiration from classic books and films of the genre such as The Machine Stops, The Matrix, and Blade Runner as well as modern explorations in art and philosophy like Free Your Mind and Technopoly, the EP’s title takes on two opposing but intersecting meanings.

One, based on the potential for machines to take over or replace humans, is a key idea of sci-fi that seems closer to reality with the arrival of machine learning and real artificial intelligence.

The second has a much more positive view, one where the “alliance” is between the artist and machine to create the music, a process she places immense value on, being both cathartic and therapeutic, whilst also being a vehicle of addition and expansion:

“I feel that it’s a collaboration…the machines are precise in their timing and I add the human touch (literally) in the live performance which adds natural imperfections, so we both provide something the other can’t. There’s also an element of growth; the machines get updates and so are always expanding in terms of their musical capabilities. And the more I push my own technical abilities I feel we are growing together in a constant synchronised dance.”

This “dance” results in four tracks (plus three digital-only bonuses) of classic machine funk which combine the aforementioned ideas in sci-fi with a deep lifelong affection for techno. Tracks like Ode to the D, and Technopoly Dream display this love through her choice of sounds and structure, both intentional and subconscious, while Replicants, and Human in the Loop project into other genres to fully round this release off as a contemporary example of music rooted in both past and future.
