Some information about this track’s processing: it was processed with “ The Pulsar Echorec” VST, so it should sound more analog. the Echorec disk involving magnetic saturation and hysteresis…I wanted a warped warm sound so there will be areas on the track where there are dropouts coloring and artifacts. I love the way it adds grit musically. It’s basically an old fashion tape machine. In other word, it dirties up the track, and adds character…I love it!

I am so excited about collaborating with soprano Maribel Villarroel and arranger and pianist René Calderón. The lyrics are from Pablo Neruda's poem "Inclinado En Las Tardes" in the book "Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair". It was translated by W.S. Merwin. Fundación Pablo Neruda has granted permission.

I was lucky enough to visit California late December/early January and part of trip included a visit to Alcatraz Island. After visiting have had the heebie-jeebies ever since (this track will not help that ha!). I wanted to create a track that reflected what it is like for a person being trapped inside prison slowly losing their mind. This track is created predominantly from sound effects which is a first for me as is the style of music as my music generally seems to normally be more calm in nature! Hope you enjoy my short track experiment,  the full Alcatraz experience!
