Sometimes a song gets inspired by a random thought. "Tuna fish, potato chips, and soft white bread" was the thought. What's more fun is the sort of saxophone / child's toy melody during the breaks is something I whistled into the mic and let Suno run with. The use of that silly instrument and the jaunty feel of the melody go perfectly with the tone of the lyrics. I'm liking finding ways to put more of myself into the pieces I create with Suno.

Dark Lullaby (a song for nightmares)

This song is one I came up with in my car, wrote the lyrics... then lost them. I did remember the refrain: "You are enough. You fill my cup." I decided to write a new song from scratch around those two sentences, inspired by my wife.

On the day I finished it, I met my wife as she got home. "Dinner's ready, but have a dance with me." I slow danced to it with her in the kitchen. She smiled all week.

Many, many years ago, back in the ancient time of the late 1980s, I was sitting in the parking lot of a comedy club with some other comics, when one of the ladies leapt like Nureyev, but not as gracefully. "What was that," I asked. "Bad Ballet," she replied. It was infectious. Comedians aren't afraid to make fools of themselves, so there were about 6 of us, dancing like idiots in the parking lot.

It was SO fun. This song is intended to encourage people to let loose and have fun. Not just dancing like no one is watching, but just having fun acting a fool to music.

Speedbumps

Took me a while to get this even close to right. 
The words, the music... they needed a lot of tweaking.
But this protest anthem finally found its footing.

I've been wanting to do a protest anthem for a while, but
never got the right concept and feel. "Burn The Earth,"
like "Fill My Cup" is a song from my lost lyrics archive where
I remembered the name and a line, but that's it.
