A specialist in creating a locked groove as well as progressive mixes that range from noise to jungle. Rather than boring people with long-winded bios written in 3rd person about his musical accomplishments he prefers to let the music do all the talking. Quadrant Soundscape presents In Focus 007

The 7th instalment of our In:Focus Series places the spotlight on a very specific point in time - The Early Deepchord records years.

In the late 1990s the Deepchord record label was co-founded by Rod Modell & Mike Schommer in Detroit, Michigan. After just four years and achieving far more success than initially anticipated, DeepChord Records wound down operations. For this In Focus we want to concentrate specifically on the work that Rod and Mike did before they disbanded.

Across the Dub Techno scene the name Deepchord carries the highest of gravitas. Elite level quality, and considered by many to be, alongside Basic Channel, the blueprint of the genre.

So much has been written about Deepchord over the years, and we're not here to repeat what's been said (you can check out a great interview with Mike from a few years ago here - inn8.net/interview-with-mike-schommer-deepchord/ ), we're here to celebrate the music and we hope that through this session we have done that.

Yuki Takasaki first appeared on lempuyang in 2022 with a superb pair of tracks which were remixed by Bluetrain & Yagya. He shone again with the track Emergent Structure which featured on the label's second V/A compilation last year, and now provides a fantastic 80 minute journey for our mix series. OHM Series Promo Show April 2024

This is the 116th Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. These monthly released sessions brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This month  Synthbiont is back with a brand new set  called: Dream or Perception?

This set was recorded live during an ambient sleeping night in a church reconverted into an art atelier in the countryside nearby Groningen. Ethereal and atmospheric sounds, deep dark drones, organic field recordings, and processed samples from the iconic movie Waking Life compose this music trip dedicated to the experience of dreaming. The idea behind the mix was to recreate a oneiric soundscape in which the listener can reflect and explore the conscious/unconscious state of mind, guiding her/him through an emotional and suggestive sonic journey. Music from @abul-mogard, Simone Giud, @simonegatto_qui_ed_ora, @astralindustries, @cryochamberlabel, Silentes/13, and many others.

Synthbiont is Nicoló Faggiani (@__vinylkite__), an Italian DJ and vinyl lover with a deep passion for ambient music living in Groningen, the Netherlands. Together with @tommasogobbo, he founded the ambient project @synthbiont_anassimandrus in early 2019, releasing music for renowned ambient labels and podcast series such as Secuencias Temporales, Deep Electronics, Silent Season, and many others.

So we had a brilliant weekend in Manchester with the Quadrant Soundscape crew for Dub Explorations, hosting a live set from the wonderful Mike Schommer.   I had the fortune of playing a couple of sets; as part of the warm up and then going in harder later in the night.   here's a redo of my record bag once back home, before putting it all to bed! Starting a residency at Klubd in Nicosia at the age of 23, Alex affected the electronic scene in Cyprus. Since 2013, he has been a resident at the renowned Berlin underground daytime party, STAUB—a space recognized for its sense of community and diverse electronic music offerings. Alex’s career features performances at iconic venues such as Tresor, Gare Porto, and Kantine am Berghain.
Capparis Spinosa is the imprint he founded in 2017 to present his music, including exclusive collaborations and remixes. His releases on Claudio PRC’s label “12” and the consistently dancefloor-appropriate release on Maeve exemplify the artist’s commitment to expression over confinement. The Paludose Canter EP showcases his profound and emotive dancefloor expressions traveling across various moods.

For this week's episode of "Delayed with..." Alex Tomb created a peak-time techno journey that bursts with energy, driven by thumping kick drums and sharp percussion. If you need a companion for your next workout, this mix will do the trick.

We are pleased to announce Heavenchord has made a return to Mood Series for #19. After his last well received release on Greyscale , 'Inner Waves' is the title of his new EP which features 3 new tracks of varying dub techno bliss. The featured track offers wonderfully sunken chords that juxtipose a click style beat that is reminiscent of classic Luomo. A first-class track for any house DJ making a foray in dub techno sounds and vice versa. 'Primary Experience' is an outstanding candidate for any high-tech dancefloor action. Its moved along briskly by well-placed accents and addictive chords of joy. This is a heater! Lastly, 'Short Dub Story' completes the latest Heavenchord with a more traditional dub affair that's sure to have people trainspotting this. Heavenchord comes in strong on this EP!
