Rutger Ansley Rosenborg is an outsider looking in. Ryan S. Miller is an insider looking out. Friends since second grade, the two have played music together from the age of eight on. 

Rutger and Ryan comprise the core of The Lulls, an LA/NYC-based band formed in 2015. In 2016, the pair embarked on a two-month national tour after releasing their debut album, “Island of Daughters,” on vinyl. In 2017, they holed up for a week in the Idyllwild mountains to demo new songs. Earlier this year, they recorded three new singles in a cabin in upstate Connecticut before flying back west to play SXSW.

With their shimmering sound, The Lulls aim to encompass the whole of America—black to white, dark to bright—through poignant, irreverent, and empathic storytelling.

J. Hofstee’s blend of indie rock Americana and dark, layered compositions, serve as an immersive soundtrack to an exploration of a fragile mind. Weaving between walls of melancholy and intimate moments stripped to Hofstee and a single microphone, his debut ep “Devil on my Shoulder”, never wavers in connecting to the universal pains of the human heart. Borne out of Alpine, Ca, the tug and pull between a rural community on the cusp of city life is felt as the music beckons listeners to withdraw from the everyday and rediscover the self.

San Diego native and self taught artist Real J. Wallace has spent the better part of the last decade making the jump from front seat freestyler to indie music innovator. Rael started making music straight out of high school and hit the ground running. He and longtime friend Bam circa 86 honed their skills both together and individually, eventually forming the duo Brother Nature and pushing each other to always reach farther than the day before. After a number of self promoted releases and an average of three shows a month for six years, his unique blend of classic hip hop storytelling and eclectic style caught the ear of indie label New World Color. NWC has a reputation for supporting artists such as Aloe Blacc, Blu & Exile, Miguel, and Danny Brown as they found their way. Since signing in early 2014 Rael has had the chance to work side by side with LA legends BLu and Mainframe, setting a high bar for his own development. He is anxious to prove his worth and ready to show everyone that his dedication to music and creativity can change the world.
