With almost twenty years of experience in the studio, Andrey Kurokhtin, aka Shine Grooves, has polished his style, which was initially inspired by the sound of Kompakt releases in the early '00s, into wonderful, ever-changing storytelling that covers broad spectrums of Electronic music. During his musical endeavors, Andrey launched three record labels Biotronic and vinyl-only Quadrat Records and Hanagasumi Records. Besides releasing on his imprints, Shine Grooves is a usual suspect on one of our favorite record labels out there, Kimochi Sound.
The mix Andrey prepared for us is made of his original work that is either unreleased or soon to be released on vinyl. It's a mesmerizing fairy tale that is serene, laid back, yet groovy enough to get you moving while enjoying it on one of the rooftops during these hot summer days. Our latest Podcast journey has been weaved together by the sonic sorceress Ana Mi ~ hailing from the beautiful community of sound connoisseurs in Brno, Czech Republic. Around Christmas some two years back, at a low-key get together in someone’s studio back in town, Ana entranced me with her powerful selection of genre-bending music all possessing that misty, ecstasy-inducing, soft-edged intensity. It is a rare sensibility and one that fits perfectly with our vision at Introspective Electronics 💫

Ana Mi is an incredibly warm and kind person with a keen ear for all-things slightly off-beat and mysterious. She is a well established name on the ever-expanding experimental electronic music scene in the Czech Republic, scoring gigs on both dance and ambient line-ups, playing radio shows and vitally contributing to the local scene as well as organising her own nights ~ Sancti. We recommend you keep your eyes peeled for her upcoming label Mysteria which should be surfacing sometimes next year 🌚✨

In this journey, chants and folk song flow gently in and out of sparse forests of beats, traversing glistening lakes of percussion and bathe in dark-tinged strings. The atmosphere thorough is thick with enigmatic haze, bewitching and sensuous 🔮

I am so happy and honored to share the fifth Neptunian Influence mix and the first in our summer series. Abundant in the dark and the dreamy, feast your ears and imagination on this aquatic soundscape made by the one and only Sassmouth. 
 
Sassmouth is founder of the record label ‘god particle,’ a resident for both Planet Chicago at Smartbar and As You Like It in San Francisco and a member of the Naughty Bad Fun Collective. In addition to planning and playing the annual Industry Brunch during Movement weekend in Detroit this past May, we were also lucky to have her throw down at our first Neptunian Influence party, a modest pre-festival meetup and brunch that holds a special history of love and friendship. It should be noted that both Sass-sets were highlights of the weekend! Sassmouth excels in playing a diverse range of sounds from house to electro to techno and beyond as you’d expect a super DJ to do, and she always captivates the dancefloor with raw, groovy energy. 
 
We met at a warehouse in LA over a year ago and I’ve considered her a friend, mentor and inspiration ever since. However, our heightened tastebuds for electro and “almost birthday twin” qualities have brought us to this point. Neptune’s effects on libras are known to be strong :)
