Here at Studio Funk we are super stoked to have the wonderful Andre Gibson on this months show. The multi talented musician, singer and songwriter of Universal Togetherness Band. As you can expect we have a lot to discuss including the history surrounding the band, how it got started, early memories and performing on the notorious TV show, The Chicago Party at the CopHerBox II (1982). We also talk about Andre’s desire to continue to making music and his recent album ‘Movin On’. Plus the collaboration with The Numero Group to publish the unreleased material of Universal Togetherness Band many years later. It’s a full packed show and if that wasn’t enough we wrap up the episode with a Studio Funk Chicago Party featuring music by Jesus Wayne, Donnell Pitman, Universal Togetherness Band and many more!

It's RARE I release a live mix. I'm usually far too critical and in general I think most live mixes should live in the moments they are created in.. BUT every now and then you come across an exception. 

On the 9th Anniversary since creating our event "Makossa", we were able to get the ENTIRE Latin Soul Brothers crew to be in attendance for the first time EVER with all 5 LSB DJ's sharing the turntables in The Town where it all began. This is a special recording to say the least.

Thank you to all our family, friends, and fellow music lovers in the Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, and around the world who have supported us over the last 9 years. We hope you accept this as a token of our appreciation.

This Set features music from one of my favorite Deep House producers, Mr. Glenn Underground. GU's style is Deep and Jazzy House with that Chicago twang added to it for additional flavor. I've played tons of Glenn's tracks over the years and they always give my mixes a boost so I dug through old some tunes and decided to create an all Glenn Underground Mix! I tried some different techniques on this one to simulate more how I play my live sets, to put it bluntly I just had more fun bouncing around and took a few more crazy musical chances playing these tunes.
