And here we already are, in the next, the third 12inch round of the Sonar Kollektiv/Daniel Grau remix orgy. This time Ray Mang, Soul Clap, Debonair and Trujillo together with Miguel Molina are in on it.
The Venezuelan six-piece combo Los Amigos Invisibles did re-record „ El León Bailarín” off Grau's album by the same title from 1980 and the UK disco king Ray Mang hand-crafted a bass driven, dubfunky slammer out of it. That's the music the most beautiful girls in town want to wiggle their hips to.
Sitting still will also be no option hearing the extra funked-up remix of “To Night” by US duo Soul Clap together with Bosq. This is, by the way, a brand new track by Daniel Grau (after a 30 years enduring creative sabbatical) and is up to now only available on „The Magic Sound Of Daniel Grau – compiled by Jazzanova & Trujillo” (SK281CD / LP).
The Londoner, Debonair comes in with his remix for "Atlantis“ (off Grau's 1979 released album "Disco Fantasy“) not less lascivious at all and pyramids the synth chords with added delays in a fashion you start to feel like somebody is pulling the rug out from under your feet. That was probably his initial intention and he succeeds brilliantly.
On the digital release you get another remix of „Delirio En Fa Menor” as a bonus track. On Reworks Vol. 2 (SK 289) there was already an adaption by Berlin based Max Graef and Delfonic. But while their remix could be assigned to the new school of beatmaking, the remix by Trujillo and Miguel Molina belongs explicitly in the crate labelled „Nu Disco“, right before the „Cosmic“ shelf.
This is the sexy sound of Venezuela today!

Taken from the collection of hitters by De Fantastiske To is this super exclusive Ralph Myerz rework of their 'Smile' track!

Suitably weird, wobbly & wonderful as only those Norwegians know how and the perfect accompaniment to this rather mega collection of cuts...

Ravi and Marius have been part of the Paper family since we signed their first track, Gimme Sum Dim Sum in 2015 and they we wee Viking pups. They have been part of a new generation of Norwegian producers who have continued the legacy of amazing Norwegian dance music.

Paper has taught them the importance of drinking tea in the afternoon, played B2B for 8 houses straight in Berlin, collaborated on numerous remixes and seen them grow in to the world-weary acid house casualties they are today.

Their sound and production has continued to develop from lush deep garage and tracky chuggers to something more big room and electronic. But still with the same love of MPC beats, vocals and a deep knowledge of house music history. 

Here are some of their finest moments on one compilation along with a remix from Norwegian legend Ralph Myerz who takes Smile in to epic territory.

Activist of the funk scene and nudisco for ten years, Stéphane Deschezeaux, chain releases on these
two labels: Springbok Records and Plaizir Muzic. Producer but also deejay, it is in the years 2000, that
Stephane, begins to mix in club, he will be resident during 4 years, in the funk room, of a big club of his
city, in parallel, Stéphane buys material of music, his first synthesizer a Korg M1, will allow him to learn
the music, he will produce his first song using the Atari 1040 Ste (40 mega hard drive), of course the first
production remains very basic, but with the experience and meetings, Stephane will forge a real style,
mixing Funk disco and its more modern like house or deep.

Welcome to the Word Is Love Show and in this show we explore the boogie of New York's Studio 54 going on a journey through 70's and 80's New York Disco.

Covering Disco, Funk, Rare Groove, House, Latin and Soul, there's a toe tapping and booty shaking range of tracks to listen to.

Expect classic tracks by The Bee Gee's, Chic, Chaka Khan and Diana Ross plus a bunch of tracks you may have never heard before that were played down at the club.

To describe the Hedonism of this legendary 70's New York hot spot here is an article by The Independant:

'"People were tired of being serious," one regular to Studio 54 reflects in a landmark new documentary of the same name about the infamous NYC disco nightclub. The epicentre of ’70s hedonism in the post-Watergate era, it was a magnet for beautiful stars, casual sex, and mounds of cocaine. A den of excess that defined its own rules and enshrined the ostracised, queer, and fabulous.

Studio 54 was a place where people could rub shoulders (and probably more) with the rich and famous, the club's ethos being that money didn't matter but personality, outlook, style and - above all - enthusiasm for life did.  Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, Calvin Klein, Elton John, Rick James, Truman Capote, Freddie Mercury, Ric Flair, Lou Reed, Al Pacino, Cher, David Bowie, Salvador Dalí, Robin Williams and Jackie Kennedy Onassis were all regulars, and that doesn't even put a dent in the list.'

The mix has been put together in a raw 'Shooting from The Hip' style of cut mixing and blend mixing to give it that authentic New York Loft Party feel that was synonymous of the time.
