This EP is a return to the past of the artist who began the path to the knowledge of electronic music, many hours in his youth devoted to listening to various styles of house inspired the creation of these tracks, but with the addition of acid lines that are present in almost every Ruksby track with which he tries to form his own style.

Ruksby (Alexander Klygin) was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, he began to actively engage in music in 2019. He tries himself in different genres, such as: acid, synthwave, electro, techno and others, sometimes these styles are mixed in one composition, and sometimes not. The SMOG EP was created at unit 71, a studio located in the industrial area of south Tel-Aviv, Israel.

This EP is the result of a collaboration between producers DODO (Iddo Charny) and MODJ (Moti Goldzamd) Both emerging from the city's boiling club scene. 

Inspired by early grime and electro sounds, the tracks on the EP are a celebration of tightly coiled drums and heavy weight basslines, Designed for impact on contemporary dance floors.

If the underground electronic music scene in South America has been booming, it is not only because of the massive number of great talents that have popped up recently but also due to the incredible curation work some labels have been executing – and the prolific U’re Guay Records is one of these channels. The Montevidean outlet finished last year with “All Remixes Vol. 1”, a bold 25-track compilation featuring some of the hottest Latino acts allied with spot-on contributions from across the pond; and now, it kicks off 2025 with another thrilling collection of gems: The 13-cut VA “PERCS” comes packed with solid works from Alírio & Tuxe, Anastasia Zems, CABE, DJ Karen, Ella De Vuono & Etcetera, Encanto, Franco Galán & Zoras, Glo My Feat. Vital, Panko Feat. Rumi De Baires, Praqqa, Tinitus, Whitney Weiss, and Imanol. Premiered here, the latter’s contribution. 

With appearances on Golden Soul, Kyma Komplex, About Disco, and his very own U’re Guay, master Imanol successfully flirts with many of his main influences in order to bring his vision of dance floor music to life. Expect an eclectic and colourful output filled with Disco, Funk, Indie, House, Acid, Techno, and even Trance references.

For his contribution to “PERCS”, Imanol invites us for a cosmic trip through his pop culture influences. Using fragments from the famous “Where No Man Has Gone Before” speech of the original 1966-1969 Star Trek science fiction television series, Imanol started working on a way to translate such influences into music, and the result is a frenzied theme brimming with euphoria and nostalgia, starring robust Acid and Electro displays.

This track is an edit of the original song "Segregation (Le Blues de l'An 2000)" from NST Cophies relesed on 1985 in Ivory Coast.

The new track is reordered, regrooved and remastered mixing modern house foundations and adding new synths and bongos percussion played by me. Enjoy!

Label owner Imanol delivers this diverse EP with influences from 90s House, Jazz, Funk, Disco and even a bit of Acid. Side A is packed with top collaborations. Fløste with energetic and emotive vocals in 'Might B OK', Andrés Juli contributing with a funky organic bass for 'Hard Funk' followed by Panko funkier remix of 'Acid n°4'. Side B contains an instrumental version of 'Might B OK' ending with 'Acid n°4 (Original Mix)' ready to rock the dancefloor at 124bpm plus a hard kick that will make you move to the beat.

Imanol is always looking for the groove, he’s a digger and loves to find “new” lost songs. His tracks are played by DJ's of the size of Folamour, Jacques Renault, Rahaan, Javi Frías, among others. At the end of 2017 he edited his EP "Funky Weekend" for the first time on Beatport which climb on place 31st of the funk/disco best 100 rank and he recently mounted his own label “U’re Guay Records” and goes for the seventh release on digital and first on wax. After a decade musicing any encounter, since the last three years the rhythm of presentations has become constant in clubs and parties in Uruguay emerging new opportunities in various countries in the region and beyond.
