About the artist: Grew up in WNY. Started out as a DJ making mix tapes for myself and friends during high school, mostly 80's funk and r&b that I'd heard at the local roller rink, using an ordinary CD player and a cheap belt-drive turntable that I modded with a start/stop switch and a pitch control knob. After moving from the roller rink to dance clubs (getting my first exposure to freestyle and house), I went to my first rave in 1993 at the Ontario Science Center in Toronto. It was during this period that I really began binging on various electronic music genres, all started because I was trying to find the track "LFO" by LFO. I also tended to gravitate towards what they were then calling UK hardcore, then jungle, then drum & bass. Made lots of friends along the way, including the guys at WBNY, where I co-hosted DJ Soma's electronic music show, the Space Time Trip, where we would cover the whole spectrum of electronic music (which is a philosophy I also embrace with my production). I also made occasional appearances on the Underground FM show, where the focus was on jungle and drum & bass. I started producing my own music around 1996, using the moniker ComputerBlue, and making songs out of goofy ideas using a PC, a pre-VST version of Cubase, MixMan Studio, Rebirth RB-338 and a Soundblaster AWE32 sound card. Around 1999, I started using the moniker neurokinetik (spelled with a "k" because that's how Richie Hawtin would have done it, lol), because The Matrix really resonated with me at the time, and it is still my all-time favorite movie. I took a long hiatus after 2000, but lockdown gave me an incentive to find a more productive use of my time, and to provide a much-needed creative outlet, so I rebuilt my studio and got back to work, releasing my first new music again in 2022.

About the EP: Around 2013 I was stuck in a rut of liquid and mainstream drum & bass, and it was either Steve or Dan sent me the link to the first Heart Drive mix. Those sets were eye-opening, and my first exposure to the autonomic genre. Even more than 10 years on, they still sound as fresh as the first time I heard them. It wasn't until the end of 2023 that I even attempted to make anything like that. This EP is my second effort in the genre, and throughout the production, I was constantly questioning whether or not I could even pull it off. So, the only thing I was certain of was uncertainty.
