Next up for The Gardens of Babylon, the super smooth sounds of Gab Rhone on the ‘I’ve Made The Bed For You’ EP ably supported by Francesca Lombardo, Baham and Sorä.  

Canadian sensation Gab Rhone has come a long way since breaking onto the scene in 2013 with a release on Guy Gerber’s Supplemental Facts label. Starting out as a DJ in his hometown, it wasn’t long before his natural ability was recognised and he quickly progressed into the big leagues, with music now signed to everyone from Lee 
Burridge’s All Day I Dream to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth.  

Capturing those warm analogue feels with soft melody is a trademark for Gab, who unleashes more delight with opener ‘I’ve Made The Bed For You’. Groovy hats, a swinging bassline and sweet vocals make this a joy to hear from start to finish. On remix duties UK-based Francesca Lombardo deepens the groove for a late-night wig out, teasing the main motifs into a darker sound. Fellow Canadians, Baham, create a new atmosphere with their sparse, jazz-influenced take. Sombre muted trumpet and vocal word samples take this to new heights.  

Moving on to their second original production, ‘Chandelier Cleaner, a disco-y bongo groove and saw-toothed bass lead the way. Vocodered vocals midway add a nice curveball for the more refined floors. Sora take a wholly different approach completely reimagining the track with tinkling arps and an air of hopefulness.
