Asllan finishes the story that expanded in his EP trilogy on Oslated with the Citizen of the World release. The title track premiering here on Monument is a piece that the producer wanted not only to mean something to people but also used as a reflection on the tragedies that started with the pandemic and, unfortunately, are still happening. After many attempts on the track's story, Asllan made a touching yet markedly energetic production. Its tribalistic rhythms are the means to conjoin the common cultural heritage of today's world descendants. The fiery percussion patterns feel like a heavy, deep pounding that comes from the depths of the caves of a long-forgotten primitive ritual. By designing a natural soundscape, the airy atmosphere provokes the dancing of the bells, as they frequently chime before passing the relay on warm pads. The tempo is divided into phases under the wild drumming and, for a few times, depicting a focal point similar to a rite of passage process. Indeed, a universal production that focuses on the collective memory and extends the thread of today's sounds to the start of it all.

Die Systemtheorie besagt, dass unsere Gesellschaft durch sogenannte Kommunikationsmedien zusammengehalten wird. Sie sind unter dem Namen der symbolisch generalisierten Kommunikationsmedien bekannt. Diese Medien (Macht, Liebe/Freundschaft, Eigentum/Geld/Bedürfnisse, Wahrheit) regeln das Zusammenleben und sorgen für einen weitestgehend produktiven und friedlichen Umgang. Die Medien entsprechen bestimmten Beziehungen zweier Kommunikationspartner und der Verteilung der Rollen zwischen den beiden. 
Da alle diese Medien gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen sind, ist meine Idee, klassische Musikstücke herauszusuchen die Macht, Liebe, Wahrheit und Eigentum zum Thema haben. Diese Idee kommt daher, dass klassische Komponisten versucht haben solche Themen in musikalische Motive und Stimmungen umzusetzen. Genau diese möchte ich in kurzen Auszügen in das Stück übernehmen. Dazu habe ich folgende Stücke ausgesucht: Für das Medium Eigentum bzw. Bedürfnisbefriedigung – Johannes Brahms mit Herzlich tut mich verlangen; für Liebe Edvard Grieg mit: Dich liebe ich und die Bassline von einem Stück eines modernen Interpreten: Stephan Bodzin, mit dem Titel: Liebe ist; für Wahrheit ein Stück von Franz Schubert mit dem Namen: Die Erscheinung; für Macht ein Lied von Johann Sebastian Bach: Herr unser Herrscher. Da Liebe der Einsamkeit und Macht der Gewalt vorbeugt, habe ich für den Anfang meines Stückes, das die vormediale Zeit darstellen soll, noch zwei Lieder von Franz Schubert gewählt: Der Kampf und Die Einsamkeit.
Anschließend wurden die Stücke von einer Software in Midi-Notenwerte übersetzt. Danach habe ich kurze Passagen herausgesucht, die jeweils die wichtigsten, aussagekräftigsten Motive oder Figuren des ursprünglichen Stücks beinhalteten. Anschließend wurden alle Abschnitte, sich öfters hintereinander wiederholend, auf der Zeitleiste arrangiert. Voran die Einsamkeit, dann der Kampf bzw. die Gewalt und dann im fliesendem Übergang die Macht. Darauf folgt der Abschnitt für das Medium Geld bzw. Eigentum/Bedürfnisse, danach die Wahrheit und zum Schluss die Liebe.
Um nun auf die Zuordnungen von Erleben und Handeln einzugehen, habe ich verschiedene Möglichkeiten der Einflussnahme der Soundspuren aufeinander gewählt. Zuerst auf den Umstand, dass auf das Handeln des Einen ein Handeln des Anderen folgt. Dies habe ich so dargestellt, dass die Wellenform des einen Kanals, die des anderen moduliert (FM-Synthese). Dies steht für das Medium Macht, denn der Eingriff ist hart und verzerrt das andere Signal völlig.
Da in der Kommunikation im Medium Geld/Eigentum einer der Kommunikationsteilnehmer nur erlebend hinnehmen muss, während der andere handelt, auch wenn es um Dinge geht die Auswirkung auf sein eigenes Erleben und Handeln haben. Zur Darstellung ist die Sidechain- Kompression durch einen Kompressor gewählt.
Da es bei der Kommunikation mit dem Medium Wahrheit darum geht, dass jeweilige Erleben untereinander zu vergleichen, ist der Abschnitt der Wahrheit mit zwei Akteuren inszeniert. Die Tonhöhe eines Instruments nähert sich im Verlauf des Stücks immer wieder harmonisch an ein anderes Instrument an und entfernt sich wieder.
Der letzte Abschnitt gilt den symbolisch generalisierten Kommunikations- medium Liebe. Da bei der Liebe sich ein Kommunikationspartner dem Erleben des anderen unterordnet, stelle ich diese Konstellation mit Hilfe eines Vocoders dar. Der Vocoder kann die Artikulation eines Instruments von einer Spur mit der Tonhöhe eines Instruments einer anderen Spur versehen. Man könnte auch sagen, er befähigt ein Instrument sich einem anderen anzupassen.

Blueprint returns with its final release for 2020, which sees label head, James Ruskin once again join forces with long-term collaborator, Mark Broom. 

It’s been almost 2 years since the last Ruskin and Broom EP (‘Domwen’ - BP053), and in that time these two UK icons have continued to dominate with astounding solo work as well as their more experimental project, The Fear Ratio, releasing their third stunning album back in March for Skam.

Returning to their Techno bunker, Ruskin and Broom now deliver four new tracks of ‘Basement Jams’ to close the year. Expect heavyweight basslines, sharp stabs, tough grooves and a high level of funk to the metallic sonics that sets them apart from other releases.
