We welcome Vasilis Lampaounas a.k.a VieL for the seventy-first edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series.

Vasilis hails from Athens and is currently based out of Thessaloniki, nestled in the north of Greece. His journey into the world of music began in 1994, when he embarked on a career as a radio DJ-producer, exploring diverse sounds like Acid Jazz, Soul, Ambient, Techno, and Drum 'n' Bass, ultimately finding his passion in Electronic music.

In 2009, VieL ventured into music production, a decision that shaped his artistic trajectory. His musical odyssey has seen him gracing the decks since the age of 16, captivating audiences in Athens and the picturesque islands of the Ionian Sea. Drawing inspiration from rich influences spanning different eras and genres, VieL's musical palette is an intricate fusion of deep-progressive and melodic house, imbued with infectious grooves and occasional ethnic elements. A connoisseur of sound, VieL cites Kraftwerk, Moby, Depeche Mode, Lawrence, Terry Lee Brown Jr., and K.O.T among his myriad influences. His dynamic sets showcase his eclectic taste which seamlessly blend the emotive nuances of Deep-Progressive and Melodic House, creating an immersive experience.

The year 2023 marked a zenith in VieL's career, characterized by a prolific output of original tracks and remixes. VieL's tracks garnered recognition and support from industry luminaries such as Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Armen Miran, Lost Desert, Yoko0, Lee Burridge, Hoj, Behrouz, Matthias Meyer, Death on The Balkony, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Kora, David Hohme, and more. He has released on esteemed labels like The Soundgarden, Tale & Tone, Akbal Music, Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings, Hoomidaas Records, Where The Shadow Ends, ΧΥΖ, Bekool, 3rd Avenue, Dialtone Records, RYNTH & many more.

Currently, in the creative process, VieL is crafting new tracks in the genres of Organic Deep House and Melodic House. He aspires to capture listeners' moods and convey diverse emotions through each track by maintaining a seamless flow in this guest mix. Enjoy!

Gus F is a musician, producer and DJ based on the beautiful island of Jersey. Gus won the global Sasha / Last Night On Earth DJing competition with a popular breaks mix just before the Covid pandemic sent the world into lockdown. He has been busy with productions, mixes and events since; dreaming up and broadcasting Secret Sunset to showcase new music at iconic locations around the beautiful island of Jersey and producing popular bootleg remixes from the likes of Kate Bush, London Grammar and Billie Eilish. Gus's first signed remix reached #1 on Beatport in the Electronica genre; a deep house version of Darkersound's "Through The Night" on Stripped Recordings. A number of other remixes were signed to Emotional Content and Music To Die For in late 2021. A massive remix of Bronski Beat's iconic Smalltown Boy was finally released in summer 2022 with Jimmy Somerville's blessing, almost 2 years and 1 million streams after a bootleg version was first aired at Secret Sunset.
