Brouhaha? Is that a real word you ask?

The name itself depicts a close resemblance to the sound and attitude that encompass the band. An uproar of sorts, creating a commotion in an all too familiar and rain soaked world of broken bedroom dreams.

Stemming from the leafy and rainbow stained streets of Chorlton, Manchester we are a six piece band comprising of Tom Hannington, Kimberley Pryde, Jade Shorrock, Geoff Baines, Andrew Sizer and Sam Forster that have risen from the rawcus shambles of DIY gigs above pubs and parties to play alongside bands such as The Futureheads and Richard Hawley on the main stages of festivals.

Picking up recognition and increasingly finding our music spurting from local and nationwide radio stations the steam train that is Brouhaha is gaining in momentum.
Catchy choruses sandwiched between tales of stuttering lovers, empty bathtubs and booze fuelled luckiness, Brouhaha manage to combine enormous soul filled vocals with brassy swirls, gritty guitars and head bopping bass lines.

Playing regular sold out shows across the city including a single launch through Scruff of the Neck Records the answer is yes. Brouhaha is a real word and yes.

We all want to live in this fantasy past where Larry Levan is playing some Kenny Dixon Jr re-work of some Arthur Russell song that doesn't actually exist.

Phreek is a monthly, members only, not-for-profit celebration parties in Tbilisi for all the freaks out there and their allies who do not necessarily fit into socially acceptable "norms".
Any "profit" from the parties will be donated to charities fighting against racism, domestic abuse and discrimination of marginalised parts of our society.

Phreek is inspired by David Mancuso’s The Loft and Nicky Siano’s The Gallery of early 70s New York City and their ethos of people coming together and having fun, regardless of their background.  No one can recreate what these NYC parties created and Phreek is not about imitating and glorifying the past, but it is about connecting the past to the present.
